Navy SEAL Team operator Carlos Moleda, who was medically discharged from SEAL Team FOUR in 1990.
Petty Officer Moleda was critically wounded during an intense firefight during combat operations on 20 December 1989 at Patilla Airfield in the Republic of Panama. Petty Officer Moleda was the guest speaker at the change of command ceremony at the Special Boat Unit TWENTY's headquarters , NAB, Little Creek, VA.
He spoke and I quote: "When an individual wears that Trident on his chest, he bears the weight of a lot of responsibility, the respect for the memory of those who have suffered and died for it, and (that) they are member of a Team.
This is another reason why we so adamantly hate WannaBe's!
The ship USS McFaul was named in his honor. The USS Mc Faul is a guided-missile destroyer that will be homeported in Norfolk, Va. The Ship has a crew of 300 sailors. Her first Commanding Officer is Bernard Jackson, a graduate of Savanh State College Navy ROTC program.
