17th Lancers

Duke of Cambridge's Own

An Introduction To The 17th Lancers And World War I Reenacting.

The 17th Lancers represents a British Cavalry unit of WWI. We are a unit of the Great War Historical Society (GWHS). The GWHS is composed of many units representing various combatant nations. Currently the GWHS has British, Canadian ([email protected]), American (contact Sgt Clyne 310 479-5943 or Sgt Rowell 818 716-7171), French (contact John Cauldron 909 598-8918), and German (Jeff and James Minnich 310 373-9848) units. GWHS units are based on real units that served in the Great War. Two major reenactments are held each year. The fall event occurs the first weekend in December. The spring event is held the first weekend in March. The GWHS site is located near Beaumont, California within the Badlands just south of Interstate 60 near Jack Rabbit Trails. The site has extensive series of trenches, bunkers, observation posts, and hundreds of yards of wire entanglements at either end of no-mans-land. Please join us and participate.
