THE 126th MEDICAL COMPANY (AIR AMBULANCE)
TODAY

I have had the good fortune to hear from members of the 126th since I have put this page on the web. On this page I plan to give you some idea of what the unit is doing today. I have heard there have been many changes to quote one unnamed source "some for the better and some for the Army".
I received an email for a unit member to advise me of some of the things that are currently going on. Here are a few excerpts

As of 1 SEP 97 the 126th was the first and only Army Guard Air Ambulance Company to have a full complement of UH-60 Blackhawks. Other units will fall into line behind us, as usual !

The unit still at Mather, only now it is a county airport. The unit continues to spend a great deal of time down at Camp Bob, and now they catch Ft. Hunter Ligget as well.

The 126th continues to have some of the best heath care professionals in the business flying for them. More then half of the current group of medics are EMT-P's. About the same number has gone to the Flight Medical Aidman Course at Ft. Rucker.

With the UH-60 you will see alot more of the 126th way up high in the mountains. to date this year we have pulled SAR Missions on Shasta and Whittney at altitudes over 13000'.

I understand personnel from the 126th are still involved in counter drug operations. Now the mission is along the Mexican border. I understand a couple of people I flew the original CAMP missions in Northern California with are down on the Border. I will not go into any detail on this subject as I would not want to compromise the safety and security of personnel involved in this mission. To those people I wish a hardy hello and good luck.
As people send me more information and photos I will update this page
