A Message from the Commander

Dear Surfer,

Welcome to the Robert A. DeMars Lincoln Park Post 67 Web Site. It is a pleasure to have you here reading about our Post and the upcoming events we have scheduled for our members.

DeMars Post 67 is located at 1430 Southfield Road in Lincoln Park, Michigan. The clubroom is open every day at noon and closes at 2am.

DeMars Post 67 has over 400 members, the Auxiliary has nearly 200, and the SAL (Sons of the American Legion) has over 100 and is growing rapidly. We have a number of District officers including the 16th District Adjutant, numerous Auxiliary District officers, and our own SAL adjutant Dan Wall is the state SAL commander. We also have a number of members who currently hold Department appointments, including the Ritual Team, Public Relations, and Americanism.

Our Post is one of the oldest in the Downriver area being chartered in 1933. We have been at our current location since 1944 and have remodeled our current building in 1988. We have a large hall that seats 225 and a clubroom downstairs with a large gathering lounge and an area that contains a pool table, dart boards, a shuffle board table, a crane machine, and a pinball machine. We also have four televisions for our members to enjoy all the sports they want.

I invite you to stop by Post 67 and check us out. I think you will find we are one of the friendliest places around and so more for Veterans than most Posts twice our size. So, if you are in the area or are looking for a Veterans organization to join or transfer to, check us out.

Fraternally yours,

Joe Schaefer

Commander
