Ulf Thorkilsson
Ulf married the daughter of Sweyn Forkbeard, Estrid. He was a jarl and had a
son King Svein Estridsen. Ulf is also the progenitor of the royal line of Denmark
to today. Around 1024 he became the regent of Denmark. He tried to get his brother-in-law's
son, Hordaknut, as King. The brother-in-law was the mighty Knut. After a war with
Sweden and Norway, Knut had Ulf killed in Roskilde church.
