ATTS. HISTORY
        The school was founded in 1949 by combining three existing schools which were under RTAF
sponsorship and placing this new school under the control of Directorate of Education and Training.
In addition to the focus on Aircraft Mechanics, Communication and Electronics and Ground Security,
the scope was broadened to include other fields of study as well.
        In 1952, the name of the school was changed to reflect this broadened focus.
So the new name is "Air Technical Training School" (ATTS.)
        In 1967, the school assumed its present name, ATTS.
       In 1978, ATTS. began recruiting applicants who had completed M.S.3 (grade 10)
for both one year andtwo year programs according to the requirements of the field of study.
Additionally, M.S.5 (grade 12) applicants were  sought for the Medical Services Branch,
a three year program.
        In 1981, ATTS.continued recruiting M.S.3 or M.3 (both equivalent to grade 10)
graduates for placement in  any of the 14 fields of study, all of which had a duration
of 2 years and 3 years for Medical Services Branch.
        In 1983, ATTS. began recruiting M.S.5 or equivalent graduates for one year program.
        In 1984, ATTS. continued recruiting M.S.5 or M.6 equivalent graduates.
        In 1985, all applicants must have completed M.6 or equivalent for one year program in 14 fields of study.
        From 1991 - 1995, all applicants who completed M.6 or equivalent and passed the test of academic subject,physical fitness and aptitude can apply in any 14 fields of study two-year programs.
        In 1996 ATTS. not only continued recruiting M.6 or equivalent for Medical Services Branch,
a two year program but also began recruiting M.3 or equivalent for a three year program.
