Four people sat around the table, with hands on an Ouija board, asking questions. Lucy was first to ask a question.
"Oh great Ouija, does my husband truly love me?"
Her husband Mike sat with breath held, waiting for the Ouija board to answer, hoping it wouldn't reveal that he really lusted after Lucy's sister Kate. Fortunately, Kate fully understood this and made sure her hand gave the little plastic thing an extra push towards the "yes" answer.
Next Kate asked a question.
"Oh great Ouija, will I win the lottery this week?"
Mike, not wanting Kate to be encouraged by such a frivolous dream, gave the plastic thing a little push towards the "no" answer.
Next Mike asked a question.
"Oh great Ouija, should I ask my boss for a raise?"
Lucy had been begging Mike to ask his boss for a raise for more than a year. So of course the answer was "yes".
Then came Kate's husband Larry's turn.
"Oh great Ouija, will I find my lost old red sock?
Everyone laughed.
