Brian

a rusting bench soon to be Our rusting bench
a too-sunny day
all sunny days were
neon green shirt
that damn black guitar case boy
staring at me
inhaling
staring at me
exhaling
when the rain came down
you beckoned me
and Beginning
standing there in warm God Water
I should have known a couple days later
you'd be seeing me naked in a bath tub
pushing the wet strands from my face
smiling and biting your lip like we do
sitting there in warm bath water
I never imagined you'd wipe tears
from a strangers face
giving me more than
drunk guitar lessons
and
rolled up fire over your flesh
imprinting Me, impressing me into you
your eyes
always on my face, my skin, my raging spirit
and our friendship
an understanding that never needed to be understood
yes, the wind has carried you. . .
further than my reach, closer to my memories
remembering
a world full of perfection
and
pink starbursts.
