"Ill be a man of good faith.
Ill make a stand. I wont break"
--All For Love

Bryan Adams, Rod Stewart and Sting

Concept: Swashbuckler

Quote: "I am the best swordsman there is, but my weapons of choice are my mind and my heart."
History:
Archibolds upbringing was a normal one. He had two loving parents (aristocrats) who gave him the best tutelage that money can buy, but Archibolds interest was always in perfecting himself both physically and mentally. When the title of the best swordsman in all of France went to him, it carried both the respect and the curse of the title. Archibold graduated at the top of his class at the Royal Military College and has proven his skill time and time again. Men from around the country would seek him out in order to test their sword skills against him. However, Archibold possessed a secret. He didnt consider himself a Christian. He believed that Jesus was not a messiah, but rather a perfect being. Archibold believes in the embodiment of mind, heart and soul and that the only reason he was so good at it was because that he had achieved a state of being that only a few achieve in their lifetimes. When asked to join he musketeers, he declined saying that he could not serve God, King and Country due to personal beliefs. This prompted the church into investigating Archibold and possible acts of heresy. It took twenty men to subdue Archibold and they only succeeded because he gave himself up willingly. The trial was quick and he was sentenced to Purification (torture until he convinces the Church that he sees the error of his ways). Archibold was put through unspeakable suffering, but he never faltered from his own personal beliefs. His soul remained intact. Then one day, the jail keeper went to his cell to find that he had disappeared. A search ensued, but it turned up nothing. Archibold returned to Paris some twenty years later as vampire of the Toreador clan. He does not know who his Sire much less why he (she?) rescued him, nurtured him and then subsequently embraced him. In his quest to find out who his sire is, he met Ichabod and together they would have several adventures.

Update: Shortly after having a run in with some Setites, Archibold would join the Anarchs. Although he doesnt believe in their mindless violence, he believes that what they stand for has more merit than the Camarilla. Although he does do his best to try and diplomatically resolve any differences between the two sects, he remains a torn man, and is forever seeking his purpose in life (or unlife rather).

Storyteller Notes: The player who created Archibold only played for one session, but I liked the character, so I kept him on. Archibold is a humble man. He will be firm at times and will not back away from a challenge once its made. Of all the Anarchs, he is probably the only one who will actually listen to reason. His sword never EVER leaves his side. He spends a greater part of every night in quiet contemplation suggesting that he is on a path other than the path of humanity.
