The Girl I Never Knew
Never known and will never know,
No guilt, nor innocence to bestow.
Never seen, no face to show
But once had seen, for I did go
Search forth, the journey led,
Upper north did my feet tread.
Special was she, the people said,
Pity she, her friend misled.
I arrived, yet suffered much wear,
I layed flowers, roses everywhere.
How I wish I was when she was there
Then for this lady could I show I do care.
Dearly departed, yet in my heart not so
For I will follow wherever you go.
The roses are you for both are sweet,
And may you always watch over me, till when we meet.
