Facing The Truth

A life to me, that seemed so real.
A perfect world, nothing concealed.
An honest go, my luck I had,
Who would have known I'd still be sad.

The pearl of the sea, beautiful she be.
The rose of the garden, what she was to me.
A face of youth, yet maturity I say.
Beauty then, and beauty now, to this day.

A rose, to her, expression of affection.
Expect none did I, yet still was neglection.
A sorrow to see, what undone of me -
How love can hurt the heart of thee.

A stab in the front, a stab in the heart,
Alas, comes an end, a world torn apart.
Though I knew this, and didn't like much,
An angel like she could not love me such.

Was I to be so naive, to aim so high,
To raise up my hopes, then eventually die.
Such love can't be so, heard I from afar,
Yet to me, she was to reach, she was my star.

Star she be, soon realised I, not for me.
One such as she, so precious, deserved to be free.
And so my chance with she, sadly be it gone,
Yet in my dreams, she and me, will still go on.
