Calling all kitties: Felines sought for contest

October 5, 1997Attention, glamour pusses. A new beauty/talent contest has slinked into town.Some purrr-fectly stunning felines will strut their stuff March 3 at the Whiskas Vitalife Awards. Nominees will be selected in the following cat-egories: Most heroic, oldest, healthiest/fittest, most agile/quick-footed, glamour puss (best skin and coat) and best movie or TV representation of feline vitality.
A Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to an institution and/or individual dedicated to feline health, care and longevity.
Nominees and owners (two per cat) will receive a free trip to Los Angeles, where they will receive the royal liter-box treatment. Winners in each category will get a feline statue and lifetime supply of Whiskas cat food. The grand-prize winner gets a trip for two to the Waltham Centre for Pet Nutrition in England.
Write 25 words or less stating why your friendly feline should be nominated for the award, and identify the category. Send a non-returnable photo if available. For the Lifetime Achievement award, indicate how your nominee has furthered the well-being of cats.
