Tomorrow is yet another day

Caressed by the first rays in the eastern sky
A new day opens its eyes –
   New desires, new dreams, new songs and laughter.

The Morn, a child of the twilight dawn,
Spreading its wings like a flight of excited pigeons,
   Glides around, full of the joy of life.

The day proceeds, Morning rolls on to Mid-day;
Nurtured by light, the Day’s now a strapping youth –
His forehead adorned with
   The fiery sun, now elevated to the middle of the sky.

With scenarios changing, the chariot of duties staggers along,
The battle continues between vice and virtue.

Age, gradually, takes its toll;
Wearied of the hushed exhaustion,
   The Day droops down beyond the western sky taking the sun alongwith.

The Afternoon mingles into Dusk.
The stars appear to embellish the Night’s attire
   With shining sequins.

Night, unaccompanied, proceeds to her secret tryst,
To unite with her beloved at journey’s end in the eastern sky,
   Soul merges into soul,
      In pure joyous ecstasy comes into being a new Day.

Transcending cycles of life continues this recreation of the Creator.
Time marches on – a never ending saga.

I tread the same path,
   And drift away in the stream of time.
The Sun rises and sets, days pass by –
Time never waits.

Yet,
   I find no interest,
      The rhythm of time seems meaningless.

My day starts with a glimpse of you, and so it ends, too.
When you are by my side, time progresses at lightning speed.
When you leave at the day’s end, darkness pervades my eyes –
   A night that seems endless.

Why does it happen?
