From today on I'm wakening up my sons Albert and Nicolas myself (it's six
years now since Isabella died) because the doctor advised Hlne to stay
quietly now she's pregnant...
We had breakfast al together though (the maid prepared it and helped the
boys getting ready to leave for their courses at the jesuits-school).
Then I asked Hlne for a short walk into the garden; she enjoyed the new
blossoms...
She told me about the Dodonaeus-book on vegetation that our
gardener showed her yesterday. I know the work; it's splendidly illustrated
with copperprints, and already re-edited at the Officina Plantiniana.
We were also talking about the new child that will join our family - with the
help of God - and I proposed the name of Clara Joanna to her, in case it
would be a girl, which name she approved...
Note:
- The famous painting on which we see Rubens, Hlne and Nicolas visiting the pavilion in their garden, is now part of the Alte Pinakotek-collection in Munich, Germany.
- On the picture on the right you can see this pavilion as part of the museum RUBENS' HOUSE, Antwerp.
