Plant eater. 116-113 MYA Early Cretaceous. 15-21 feet long. Near relative of Dryosaurus. Tenontosaurus has been described as a hypsilophodontid(6 feet long) grown very large. Head is large and deeper to allow larger amounts of food to be taken in. It has powerful jaws. Moved on all fours or on two legs. Bipedally for fast moving, and on fours for grazing, eating and walking. The long tail may have been used for defending against predators. It may have lived in swampy areas. It is possible that Deinonychus hunted this often.
