Apatosaurus ajax 'fraud lizard'

Plant eater. 156-145 MYA late Jurassic. 70-90 feet long. May have possibly reared up on back legs at reach the leaves on tall trees. Would have reached up to 50 feet high. Was a forest dweller. Apatosaur is Brontosaur, kind of. What had happened is they put the wrong head on the Apatosaurus skeleton and called it Brontosaurus. They finally found the right head. Brontosaurus is no longer a valid name.

Plant eater. 156-145 MYA late Jurassic. 88 feet long weighed less than 12 tons. Ate conifers, cycads, ginkos and ferns. Long neck and tail. Long snout with nostrils on top of head. Long peglike teeth that were used to pull leaves of twigs and branches. Teeth were located in front of mouth. Had long slender limbs. Hind limbs longer then the front ones. They had gastroliths or stomach stones to help grind their food down.
