Armored dinosaurs with clubs, close relatives are the Nodosaurids. They moved faster then Sauropods but slower then other Orinthishians. Relied defensively by lying on its stomach and swinging its "clubbed" tail at predators. Skulls are triangular in shape. Large horns at corners of skull. Allot of bony plating on skull. Also several bony plates on its back. They are sort of a small tank in their own way. Mostly solitary animals may have formed herds for short times for mating.
Anklyosaurus mangniventris 'fused reptile'
Plant eater, 70-65 MYA (Late Cretaceous). Largest of the Anklyosaurs. More specialized armor then other Anklyosaurids. 25-33 feet long. It was close to the ground and was armored on its back. Close relative of Euplocephus "The Club" was formed from bones that enlarged and fused to each other. The tail was probably used to fend off predators.
Euplocephus tutus 'well protected lizard'
Plant eater. 76-70 MYA Late Cretaceous. Weighed about 2 tons. Armor on back was nodules of bone on a leathery skin. Had some spikes on back. Four-fused vertebra made up the tail club. Last ten vertebrae were fused together. Two skulls found with bony eyelids. May have been solitary or lived in small groups. Close relative of Anklyosaurus and Pinocosaurus. 17-20 feet long.
