About Us

Mission Statement
.....Challenge Foundation is a non-profit organization established to provide a neutral platform for multi-sectoral dialogue among health care providers, policy makers, and people living with HIV/AIDS, educators and volunteers leading to the formation of a collective voice in the fight against the HIV infection in the United States. Challenge Foundation's key activities include information dissemination, networkin, capacity building, education, training, testing and treatment. Challenge Foundation invites non-governmental organizations (NGOs)/Community based Organizations (CBOs), People Living with HIV/AIDS, the U.S. Government, Academia and International organizations to work with us.

.....Challenge Foundation serves clinicians, scientists, activists, people living with HIV/AIDs, artists, social workers, nutritionists, lawyers, public health professionals, educators and volunteers working on HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment issues in North American and plans to start its activities in countries where HIV infection rates are already high.

How Challenge Foundation Combats HIV/AIDS
.....In the United States and Canada, widespread access to antiretoviral therapy has dramatically decreased AIDS mortality; however, new infections have not decreased appreciably. Thus, HIV prevalence has increased to approximately 920,000 people now living with HIV. There are 45,000 newly infected children and adults.

The above figures indicate that a lot of work is to be done for the reduction of this disease. We are committed to the reduction of HIV/AIDs cases through the implementation of activities that result in:

. . . . .* reduced transmission of infection
. . . . .* an improved quality of life for people living with . . . . .HIV/AIDS
. . . . .* and a strengthened health service and community . . . . .capacity to provide essential care.

HIV prevention is integrated within all our programmes. Through strict adherence to WHO recommended universal precautions against HIV/AIDS. In addition, the Challenge Foundation implements specific HIV prevention projects targeting high-risk groups such as adolescents and those effected by sexual and gender based violence.
