1. Weapons:

    • Swords, staffs, daggers, bows, black powder guns, and of course what your character can do naturally. Dragons can breathe fire, Vampires have incredible strength, etc. If a weapon is knocked from a players hand they are required to pick it up to use it. A weapon must be drawn and/or loaded to be in play as well.

  2. Fighting:

An attack or counter attack on the fighters is done in action text. Typos make an attack or counter attack not count. These things are required for each maneuver to be counted:

    • Names given by OM of each opponite at the start of the match a minimum of 3 letters of the opponites nic, maximum of 4 letters of the opponites nic will be chosen by the OM. This is to give each fighter a fair chance.
    • Discription of what the weapon does at time of attack (slash, stab, thrust if sword, etc.).
    • Part of the body you are wanting to do damage to (arm, leg, etc).
    • Reaction line of the damage done of the opponite.
    • The opponite can dodge, roll, skip, jump, hop, etc. to avoid an attack.
    • At the end of the battle the player needs to ask for a confirm, the OM and witnesses respond with a 'yay' or 'nay'. Any who give a 'nay' call need to be asked why. It needs to be checked out at that time if possible by the OM judging.
    • Dismemberment/Decapitation is not considered honorable in midieval times. Beheading and drawn and quartering was a form of punishment to those that committed crimes not part of the battlefield. Decapitation can be used as the Death Blow but not dismemberment of limbs in battle because it does give an unfair advantage to the opponite. A severe wound to a body part will make it useless tho.

  3. Vanishing:

    • A vanish lasts 15 seconds. This is to give the fighter a chance to regroup and rest. The OM will use a watch with a second hand to keep track of this. This is believed to give more of an accurate count. Vanishes are broken the moment the player makes an attack or appears.

  4. Resurrections:
    • A OM is needed to witness the resurrection. Two known players of Ordallia are needed to witness the event. The Killer and Priest are the ones who do the resurrection. If the Killer doesn't want a resurrection of the character that character can not be brought back.
A posting of this event with the name of the OM, Priest, Killer and witnesses is required. This must be done within 12 hours of the resurrection or it is voided and the character will remain dead until it is corrected. To keep confusion down those that claim witness should verify their presence at said event by posting. Roleplay the post if you were happy/mad that they were brought back, etc.

  5. Types of Battles Fought in Ordallia:

    • Required for Battle to the Death, and Combat of Honor:
For these to count it is required to have a OM, two recognized Ordallia players and be posted within 12 hours of the occurance to be legal and count. Those that witness these events should post and role play out that they did witness by maybe saying they are glad that person is gone or justice was served, etc. This verifies those that witness these events and will help out if there is a question or a problem to the event. The OM's or people of the Senate checking it out will know who to talk to as well.
    • Battle to the Death:
This is where a player looses his character if beaten in this particular match. You do have the right to refuse a challege of this nature. Each player needs to reach the required hits, making the last hit the death blow. The first player with the required hits including the death blow is the one who is declared winner of the match.
    • Combat of Honor:
This is where a player can challenge a character without loosing their character. You have the right to refuse a challenge of this nature. Each player needs to reach the required hits, making the last hit the damaging blow (Player that is being challenged could be knocked out, or passed out, adding a need to role play healing time of bruised ribs, black eyes, sore muscles, etc.).
    • Hand to Hand:
Here players can have a bit of fun. A Head Knight, Knight, or Squire who has knowledge of the rules may OM this type of match. This match can be for gaining weapons, such as a sword, bow, dagger, or a great aged bottle of whiskey that you wish to acquire. No weapons or magic are used in this type of combat only your natural abilities may be used (fists, feet, tails, etc.) Of course those bruised and battered should role play the part after experiencing this type of event. As in all the above you as a player have the right to refuse a challenge of any sort.
    • Training Combat:
OM's, Head Knights, Knights can offer to teach those who wish to learn combat. This can be intense/moderate depending on your desire for training in the arts of the sword, staff, etc. Because this is training nobody gets hurt. This is more for those that are not in a clan/family that wish to learn but only wish to be citizens of Ordallia. It also offers a way for fighters to practice with others besides their clansmen.
