| OFFBEAT - THE BAND |
| An Offbeat Introduction Offbeat hails from west central Ohio and specializes in music from "off-the-beaten path". Tired of the same old songs you've heard a million times? Does it ever bother you that every live band you hear seems to have the same play list (Old Time Rock-n-Roll, Marguaritaville, Three Steps, Hang on Sloopey�.)? Ever listen to the radio and hear a song that you haven't heard for years and say, "I love this song! Why don't I hear this song more often�? Why are there no bands that specialize in tasty but forgotten classics? That is the essence of Offbeat. Offbeat will take your ears to places where they haven�t been in years. Offbeat has nice Brass! Offbeat is not your typical guitar, bass, and drum band. There�s trumpet man (Mike Droesch) who can make his horn talk, a harp dude (Steve Grimm) that can make his harmonica cry and wail, and sax man (Dan Klosterman) to round out the brass trio for all kinds of great blues and jazz tunes. Bust a Groove! Drummer Rick Heyne is not only one of the best drummers in the state of Ohio, but plays an electronic set that allows for several new dimensions in percussion (Jamaican steel drums, African jungle drums, etc...). Bass man Matt Ranly, laying down solid but creative runs provides the rest of the groove. Rick and Matt have been playing together for so long that it is scary how they can jam. Guitars Are Us! Neal Anderson and Dan Klosterman expertly handle the guitars. Neal is Mr. Versatility and Mr. Tasty Lick rolled into one - often picking or strumming acoustic, sometimes crunching electric, and occasionally riding the slide. Dan provides the perfect compliment of scorchingly fast, and soaring Eddyish leads that blend beautifully with Neal�s. Alternating solos and harmony guitar leads are to be expected. We�ve Got the Keys! Dan Klosterman provides the majority of the key work, with Neal Anderson chipping in when necessary. From beautiful Yamaha piano, to Korg strings and organ, the keys are there to complete the ensemble. We Are a Vocal Group! Instrumentally, it's hard to find a better band, but what about vocals? What about 'em? What other band do you know that routinely fields five lead vocalists? Offbeat takes tremendous pride in the quality and versatility of its vocals � from crooners to screamers, and everything in between.
