Conrad Veidt was more than an actor. He was a humanitarian. He emigrated from Germany rather than participate in Nazi films - and two of the first films he made in England - Jew Suss and The Wandering Jew, were deliberate slaps in the face to Hitler. After the outbreak of World War II he brought his Jewish wife to America and there set to work to enlist aid for England.
The Conrad Veidt Society has, and will continue Veidt's legacy by supporting various charities.
