It was just a regular day in the Xenaverse. (Well, it would have been if there was such a thing as a regular day in the Xenaverse.) Xena and Gabrielle where sitting in front of their campfire when they heard a noise. Xena jumped up and managed to get her message before the messenger died.
"So Gab, do you want to go to Japan?" Xena asked Gabrielle. Gabrielle was a bit uncertain about the idea.
So they set sail for Japan; it promised to be a dangerous adventure.
