News Archives

June 8, 2007 -

  • More stuff has been added to the timeline and the links to the role play sessions is linked to them straight from the timeline. Days are moving a lot faster now then they have in the past.
  • Newsletter went out June first. If you missed it, there is a copy of it on the forums. Click here to be taken to it.
  • I made a board for Netherworld and Ra'Mir stuff. In the past these things have gone either in Kelosh or in Hana'Var even though the actions of the Ra'Mir are affecting both those subplots and are affected by them both. Now however they have their own board. Fear not though if you start to get lost, you can always just click the links from the timeline to find the right forum threads.

    May 22, 2007 -

  • Questions added to the FAQ on the forums.
  • Beginner's Guide was retouched and now holds some role play rules.

    May 21, 2007 -

  • I updated several of our pages, including this front page. This update was not for the content, but for the layout of that content.
  • There is now a FAQ thread on the forums in the Rules and Guides board.

    May 20, 2007 -

  • Updated the game day listing at the top of the forums as well as in the timeline.
  • I edited most the threads on the HanaVar board and the sub board for Castillo del Croxx to show the dates that the thread took place in the subject of that thread.
  • I kicked Eric in the shin.

    May 19, 2007 -

  • Role play stalled for awhile so I decided to skip a few days ahead so that the story wouldnt also stall. Feel free to fill in the blanks of what happened on days 3 and 4 of this game month however if you feel you need to.
  • Im sure you noticed I havent sent newsletters out these last two months? It wasnt just because I was lazy but also because there was nothing worth reporting. Newsletters will resume in June.
  • HanaVar seems to be the hottest plot right now, so why dont you feel free to join us there? That plot also happens to be newb friendly, so there shouldnt be any worries about joining in the fun.

    Febuary 11, 2007 -

  • I've changed the staff positions on the forums, or what they're called anyway. Now I am Story Master, co-admins are Scribes, and mods are now Scholars. I felt it reflected the story atmosphere better.
  • Im also working on a new rule about how long a game day can last. Im thinking two weeks for those of you that can only post on the forums or through e-mail. Anyone should be able to get through a single day in two weeks worth of posting. Expect that to be in the March Newsletter.
  • Speaking of which, Ive gone back to sending the newsletters through the forums so you should opt-in on mass emails on at least one account. I suggest only doing it once per email though so you wont get the letter a thousand times.

    January 16, 2007 -

  • It's been a long time since you've heard from me I know, but things are about to get back into full swing.
  • The time reset that was done a few months ago has been undone for the most part. I know a vote was taken the last time and this time that did not happen, but those that were most for the reset have not played since then, and those that were against it have offered to come back if it goes away. Also the reset caused us to lose a lot of good story stuff that had happened and I wanted that back. There are a few slight changes to the story anyway, but well work through them all together.
  • The forums still need a lot of moving around of threads to reflect where we are now, please be patient while I take care of that.
  • We're back and play has already started. Are you missing it?

    September 18, 2006 -

  • There is a new poll on the High Power forums that needs votes. If you are in that plot, please go there and vote.
  • The site is in the middle of a facelift, so please do not judge this book by it's cover. It's a little ripped in the corner there.
  • I used Dundjinni to upgrade the AmKelosh layouts, and those are now linked under Maps. They do not show furniture or yet tell you what rooms are what, so expect those updates in the future. I'm modeling the outside of the main building in my Advanced 3d class, so yay!

    September 19, 2006 -

  • The Tomorrow, Today, and Yesterday will no longer be shown on the main stie, but is still displayed at the top of the forums if you need to know what's going on in the different plots.
  • Happy Birthday, Eric!

    June 21, 2006 -

  • A vote was taken and passed that the High Council are no longer gods, but rulers. This will add more depth to the universe of Nepherasta. The posts about this can be found in the General RP section of the forums.
  • Also because a major rp event was taking place as the current High Council meeting was called, the meeting is now holding up almost all other rp plots. This curse has even now drifted into the HanaVar plot. As a result everyone has a week to post, or they can be skipped by the next person in line.
  • I have bought a mapping program called Dundjinni and will now be remapping or mapping new everything we need a layout of.

    May 10, 2006 -

  • Timeline is still being worked on. Everyone needs to look over it for the key points in your character's stories and see if all those events are listed.
  • I've got the day recaps below this Announcment box now and again on the forums. By tomorrow, today, and yesterday it means game days. The game date is in the upper right corner. Times does not move at the same speed in game as it does in real life and sometimes certain plots fall behind or get ahead of others.

    March 7, 2006 -

  • I have nearly completed the Timeline project of Nepherasta. It's in it's final editing stage by players, so everyone needs to look over it and then comment on if you like the space between events that occurred. Keep in mind though that if you want a certain past event to take place further in the past, all the events around that one will also move backwards. Which isn't really a big deal.
  • The next project I'm going to be working on is the spell list, followed by the magic rules. In the future any spell used in the story will have to come from the list. Anyone can submit spells for the list, but please don't steal them from other games or settings.
  • There is a new poll to the right now. Feel free to cast your vote. ------>

    March 2, 2006 -
I made a new skin for the forums. You can find it by editing your profile. It's called Magic. And for those of you who are worried, I don't really plan to kill either Kayos or Dacklyn. I wouldn't have anyone left to play if I did. heh We'll just see how it works out in game.

    March 1, 2006 -
A mass e-mail was sent out to everyone registered on the forums. It wasn't the first mass e-mail, but it is the first monthly newsletter. Expect one each month. Copies are posted on the forums in case your e-mail isn't up to date. Also many inactive members were deleted from the forums.

    Febuary 27, 2006 -
That last game day was probably the longest day we've ever had played around here. It seemed to last forever. But it is finally the next day, all may rejoice! And Tati has returned, yay! Image hosting by Photobucket

    Febuary 8, 2006 -
Still working on getting classes listed as well as the months of Nepherasta and that will be followed by a historical timeline of all the plots. Oh yes, and the Poll answer was revealed on the forums. You can find it under AmKelosh. The poll was left up so people could see how correct the guesses were.

    January 25, 2006 -
Shop was removed from forums because IE users could not see the forums with it there. Sorry about that.

    January 16, 2006 -
Shop added to forums. Now your character can buy stuff and that stuff will appear on your miniprofile when you post. More items coming soon.

    January 7, 2006 -
Site layout has changed to hopefully be more user friendly.

    January 6, 2006 -
The NPC that has been known as Zelda has had a name change to Kreselda to stop people from confusing her for a blonde-haired elf girl that needs Link to save her.

    January 3, 2006 -
The High Powers board was moved to a private category that only the High Powers and their high level henchmen will be able to view and play on.

    December 17, 2005

Like always, for most the updates and announcements you might want to check the forums and see what the news is there. The setting, forums, and site are all getting a little facelift. Things are going to change. Some of them major, like the gods being downgraded to rulers and more forum rules being implemented. Most the changes should end up for the best and will make the setting a little more user friendly to the newcomers.

Also our chat rooms we did have, are no longer working. A friend was hosting those for me and he had some host troubles (including having his little graphic based game erased). But there is now a very simple little java chat room on the forums. Its for registered members only and will log you into the chat room using your forum username. Not your display name. Sorry, thats just the way it came and I dont have access to the code.

Please read the new forum rules before posting on the forums. Thanks. Image hosted by Photobucket.com

I realized today that I don't always mention all the little updates here, but often mention them on the forums instead. But since this is our first impression we make on most people, I figured I need to start mentioning everything here as well.

I added a hit counter to the forums, but I didn't set it's number at anything. It can't count all the hits we've had in the past, only those in the future. I also set it not to count me since I check the forums several times a day and thus would be a little off balance for the counter.

We also now have a little java chat room. I wanted to make the background of the chat room white, but that wasn't a choice, so it's black. However if that annoys anyone there are lighter colors to pick from, they're just not white. heh. It's just a very basic little thing, but it's quick and easy to use. And you won't have to change over to another Yahoo id to start, if we use it. Not saying we should move all our play to it; but it's there if we need it or want it.

    July 12, 2005

I've decided to dust off the old Stormshadow Magic Shop and post it on the main site. I'll probably make a board for it on the forum if we get enough mortal chars around that will need gear. Otherwise feel free to look over it and pick out some nice items for your chars. Just ignore that stuff that says how much of an item they have in stock, that's old info for when the shop was part of the main plot here. The link is to the left, it's the one called Magic Shop, the other Shop link is to the Nepherasta shop, though to tell the truth I don't know why I ever bothered to make one. I guess I was bored. heh

    July 8, 2005

Things have woken up here once again. That's right everyone, it's game time! More people have come to the High Power plot line so that's why it's the only plot that got it's only little section on the main site. It's the only truly active. There's a little action going on in Hana'Var, but not enough to get anyone's hopes up. Not unless you're well motivated.

I've decided to change the layout of the site and will post a test run first to see what everyone thinks. This news you're reading now will be showing up on both the old and new versions of the site. I just decreased the amount of links on the main page, in hopes of making the must need links easier to find by new comers. Not all the links on the new layout will work yet, (see the white text to the left instead of links) but I'll work on getting them up and running as soon as I can.

"As you know, I've been trying a few different forum options. I'm sorry to say that hosting my own is not within my budget, so I've had to hunt the web for free forum options. I now have three to be chosen from. Keep in mind that the colors and style on each can be changed, so when you vote, try to focus on the other aspects of the forums. I'll list the forums below with a link to each and a description about some of the limitations of that forum.

(There was a poll here, but it was removed on Jan, 6, 2006. All the forums had one vote each, so we kept the old ones to keep from losing old posts.)

    March 14, 2005

"I added a couple more items to the shop with a new image on them. It's the red dragon girl, most of you have already seen.

There's some talk about the forums we're using giving certain people trouble, so I'm trying a few new options. When I get some choices ready I'll put a poll up somewhere so we can all vote. Sorry, but Xsorbit won't be in the running, I tried for two days to get it to the colors I wanted and messed something up to the point I can no longer even log into the admin section. Buy things from the shop and we'll be able to aford to switch to php and remove the ads from the site. ^_~"

"I'm really sorry if this causes any problems for anyone, but I've decided to go with a frame layout for this site. As it was all the links would have to be updated for every page everytime something changed. This was way too much work for one person to take care of, so the site will be changing to a format that uses an inline frame. This will still be a lot of work, so if some of the pages are missing or don't load right, just bare with me. Feel free to point out any broken links to me either through e-mail or on the forums."

    Febuary 3, 2005

The Online section for 2005 has been updated again, finishing off the January trannies and starting on the Febuary ones. Broken links in the 2004 section have been fixed. If you have old transcripts from sessions that are not posted, feel free to send those, either through e-mail or by posting them on the forums.

I have given up on the graphic game idea. My computer seems to hate the Players World engine, it takes more than what my comp can handle. I just don't have the time or desire to try and learn any other method to get the game out right now either.

We are, however, back into the text only role play of things. Players have returned, seemingly all at once and plots are getting back off the ground once more. It sure feels good to have role play again.

The current plot revolves around the High Powers and the Kelosh Empire, with Kayos and Synderix being the two most active character. If you are new and wish to join, I suggest you look into making a follower of Synderix or Kayos. If you are brave and talented, you can ask to make a High Power yourself. The High Powers are the gods of Nepherasta, but Tati and myself are a bit picky on who we let play one of those roles. We've had some bad role players come in and almost ruin things before.

    October 3, 2004

I promised it a long time ago, but was slow in making it happen. Nepherasta is going graphic. Not the whole universe, just the continent of Kyami. Playable races will include human, centaur, pixelf, and dark elf. I would like to get at least one more playable race into the mix, and the polls are open for you to vote on which that should be. You only have a choice of three however. I may however decide to open up the polls on each and every race, letting you decide which races you'll be able to create a character as. I'll try to keep updates coming both here on this page and on our forums. Feel free to discuss this issue until it drives you nuts on the forums. We are still in the very beginning of this project and not all the sprites or tiles have been created/gathered yet.

I'll be making this using the Player Worlds engine. It's 2d and much in the style of old rpgs, or something you'd find on the game boy advanced today. I'd link where you can get that engine yourself, but they are having technical problems right now. Their entire site and everything has been down for a week and they're not sure when they'll get it back up.

If you'd like to see and vote on which playable race should be added, please go Here! (link removed due to inactive page) There is a page showing the images for seven ranks of three races in both gender. Keep in mind the ranks shown are not the final ranks. They're there only to show those used to the PW system when the automatic sprite changes will occur. Thugh I haven't decided yet how many levels will be between the next rank/sprite change.

    July 6, 2004

The Online section for 2004 is completely caught up and updated as of today. Everyone disapeared this year, so there aren't that many trannies for this year so far. But hopefully things will pick up again to where I fall behind in updating that seciton. =P

    July 3, 2004

The forums have changed to show that everything will now be centered around Serenity. The High Power board is gone, but the characters still have the same gods, even if those gods are not actively played. Almost all the information you need to know to play can now be found on the forums as well. Much of the information there is repeated from different places in this site. This site is to be used as a reference when rping in Serenity of Nepherasta, but it's the forums that is the real center of activity.

    June 16, 2004

Nepherasta is returning to it's roots, Ayenee.org. Nepherasta got it's beginnings in Ayenee five years ago. We wouldn't be where we are today without that community and the guidence of different rpers over the years. We use the same T1 rule system they use, because it's just the best one to use.

The High Power plot line seems to have dwindled down to just two active chars. It's time to revive life in the city of Serenity. Serenity has always been one of the more popular subsettings of Nepherasta. Current play will focus around the dueling of Serenity, with the main active group being the Red Talon Dueling Stable. In that plot line we are trying to merge the story with Gashmere. Kayleen Shikara of Serenity has entered into business talks in the opporation of a stable in Gashmere.

    May 9, 2004

I think I'm going to make a graphic game of Nepherasta using the Player Worlds game engine. It's a 2d game engine, and the same one Jerrath Online is made with. Some of you know, I'm also a Dragon Goddess of Jerrath, in other words, an admin.

If you have any ideas or suggetsions don't hesitate to voice them. I'm always open to feedback, good or bad.

    December 3, 2003

We now have a shop to go with our little realm. You can find it at www.cafepress.com/nepherasta. I must admit I'm surprised no one joined the forums. I thought for sure you guys would like those. heh. I'm keeping them anyway in case anyone ever feels like using them. I guess they are kinda of pointless when we see each other on messenger and in chat.
