Time: around 2 am.
Location: AmKelosh: a garden near the main palace
Note: This was done in several sessions, the line shows where the first session ended. Several posts after there were done through e-mail and the rest in a chat session again.

Nick Corwin is in a garden, sitting on a bench near the path along the path that leads from one of the parking garages of AmKelosh to the main palace where Nick lives. It's kinda late and most living or light loving creatures are asleep. Shadows, undead, and other such nocturnal creatures still roam the the grounds however. Nick is wearing the same black slacks he was wearing earlier in the day as well as a silk button down shirt that displays a pattern of little black crescent moons on a dark grey background. His hair is worn free and lose, falling down his back and drapping over his shoulders a bit. His eyes are on the ground, which is very typical for Nick. Though not many would make the mistake of thinking Nick doesn't know what's going on around him. His eyes aren't the only sense he uses to stay alert of his environment.

Bella ~Entered the courtyard at the small hours of the monring, it felt about 4 to her, but it was only 2: am she had looked at the clock upon leaving her date rather sound asleep. her form drifted down the hallway, more like on clouds then anything. She smield, the first in a long time. she had a rather nice evening. Her form swaying from one side to the other. she was not drunk, nor anything else for that matter. It was more euphoric then anything as she drifted toward her chambre. her shoes werein he rhands as she made her way along the pathway through the garden.

Nick Corwin does not look up at the soft sound of a barefoot woman walking down the path. She's alone and not wearing shoes, so that tells him without looking she's not one of his Amazon guards. They often like to gang up on him, finding saftey in numbers or something. Nick has never heard Bella walking barefoot before, so he doesn't know it's her, but still he doesn't look up to see who it is either. AmKelosh is one of the savest places in the universe as long as you're loyal to Kayos. To Nick, everyone is either an enemy or an ally, he just doesn't know any other way of viewing people.

Bella ~her gaze danced across the pathway upon ahead. the soft glow of lights glowingover head gave the garden a rather mystic look to them. She smiled, and then the smileceased. She saw Nick, Good old Nick sitting upon a bench. she did not wish to have words with him at all this eve. It was such a good evening. She winced as she strolle dher way toward him. "couldn't sleep. or were you waiting up for me." Her smile is genuine at best. Her hands curled behind her backas she peered down at him.

Nick Corwin looks up when she speaks, lifting his head at a caual pace. He has heard her speak before, so he knows her voice. Nick has a strange memeory. He remembers everything he's ever seen, felt, smelt, or tasted with vivid clarity. Most people would be shocked if they ever found out what he'd say the worst day of his life was. He smiles softly to Bella. He doesn't know who she really is, but just thinks she's some stranger he's saved a couple of times, then made the mistake of brining her home. Now he think he's responsible for trapping her into this life style, and it's not something he'd wish on most of his enemies. This creates a sensation he's not really used to dealing with, guilt. "Nah, there's a couple of Amazons in my bed. Couldn't sleep even if I crawled into it." He blushes lightly.

Bella ~Looking at him her head tilts to the side. This was a first ever. She thought as lark, she wanted to mak ethe most of pointing it out. But as this bella she could do nosuch thing. She looked at him and smiled...."I know many a man that woul love to be in that place. You are a noble man, if you wish to think of it or not." she stepped passed him, not at all thinking what this would stir in him, if anything.

Nick Corwin lets out a slight laugh, then a playful, "Shhh" He looks around as if to see if anyone is watching, though he knows it's most likely no one is, he'd have heard them. A very old vampire might be, but Nick decides not to let his paraoid nature get the better of him tonight. "If people hear you call me noble, it could ruin my reputation." He glances back up at her before speaking again, but what he had meant to sound just as playful has a touch something else in his voice, maybe regret, maybe longing for something differnt, maybe loniness. "Don't you know? I'm an emotionless killer."

Bella slipped to the bench next to him. she tilte dher head back, looking at the sky above them...."you can say what you wish. i have seen and heard the tender sides of your soul..." she smirked knowing he would just laugh that off as well. She could copunt three times he could hve left her to die, but didn't. Her gaze returne dto him...."Emotionless, well that part yes...killer..well perhaps before. But time pasts quickly and we all have regrets.." she curle dher shoulders forward, shrugging.."Well....you still have yet to tell me why your out here...unless I was right. And you are waiting for me....." there was many places to wander at night then teh garden, this did not seem to be Nick's type of place..

Nick Corwin watches her as she speaks, lifting a hand to his hair to comb the stray strands from his face at one point. His hair is fine and soft, which caues it to shift and move with the slightest of movment or breeze, often seeming as if it has a life of it's own. He goes through the memories in his head real quick, but can only think of a couple of real regrets, one is returning to Kelosh and another is dragging Bella into all this. He'd thought they'd let her go home after that night he brought her here. He was annoyed and tired and just couldn't be bothered to take her anywhere else and now she's got to suffer for that. Maybe she likes it, he can't bring himself to ask her. "No, I was serious the Amazons would. .. " He trails off and glances away as a hot blush crosses his face. Nick clears his throat, "I . . . .um. .. uh. . .can't sleep." He thinks to quickly change the subject. "How was your date?"

Bella You can't sleep....i am sure after you go to your bed your guardians would make good us eof you...."she smirkered, "Oh i'm sorry i should not tease you...." She smiled as she looke dat him, hoping his mood would lessen on the moody one and a bit more up beat. Her date... how was her date...."Looking at her feet, she smiled.."It was good...." she place dher hands together. as she leaned forward upon the bench. It had been a long time since she had allowed herself to experience such earthly pleasures. She chuckled as she felt he rown cheeks rage with heat and reddness. She turne dto look at the pathway again, the soft hooting of an owl it seeme d was making itself know. she had speant a good part of the night having dinner and enjoying herself. so what if nick called him a slut, she did not care, she just wanted a life it would seem.

Nick Corwin grew up around Amazons, so he is under the impression most women think the way they do, some just hide it better than others, so what she says doesn't really phase him much. She may not realize it, but this is his upbeat mood, yeah he can get even happier, but that'd require doing fun stuff. He likes sitting outside in the garden, despite his slight fear of vampiric women being constantly on his mind. He's learned to hide his fears as well as he hides all show of emotion, though he's trying to learn to let it out more around friends and family. He smiles softely, glad to hear that her night went well. "I won't ask for details if you don't want to give them." He knows his social skills suck."But remember my advice about staying away from the Ramezkie men. The royal family is bad news."

Bella Why do you say that?" she turned fully to look at him. She wondered if it was something he knew or just spat out as knowledge. She turned to face him on thebench. She had a marvelous time this eve and was no more worst for it. She tilte dher hea dtoward him., her own blone locks framing about her face

Nick Corwin knew he had mentioned this to her before, but also knew that most people did not have a memory like his own. "Most of them aspire to be sluts like Kayos. You need to try to find the type of guy that wouldn't mind falling in love and all that." He feels like a fish out of water, what the hell does he know about any of it? His first girl betray him, and the last one was a spy that he had to kill. "Then again, maybe you shouldn't seek love advice from an emotionless killer." He gives a little shrug and laughs at himself. This isn't an area he think he'll have much experiance in, the only women wanting him are the Amazons and that's only cuase Kayos told them to. They don't really like him, they're just under orders to pretend.

Bella leans against the back o fthe bench. her dark green eyes looking at him. "why would you say that. What make syou think that I wish anything of th sort. i mena ..." she had forget that she was bella not lark......"I'm not like i haven't tried. Perhaps te right man, just doesn;t know i exsist." her eyes looking direction into his own. She could not help but look at them. She shook her head..."You have to stop thinking like taht Nick. i mean really, someone is out there for you...." She smirked knowing his take on that. "As for the sluts like kayos..I can handle myself."

Nick Corwin has the impression Bella is a sweet and sheltered girl, maybe it was the thugs that he's saved her from before, but then on the other hand if she's out with a royal member, his bodyguards would protect her as well. He thinks this conversation is in serious danger of becoming gloomy. He gives a little shrug. "Prehaps." Which is al he wants to say on the matter of love being out there or not. The man was raised by Kayos and a single mother, neither being a good role model for relationships. "And prehaps we should talk about something else." He wants to ask her what they have her doing around here, but that whole conversation idea reminds him of the guilt he feels for her being here. "My social skills suck, I'm afraid. If we're going to have a conversation, you'll have to do most the work."

Bella looked at him, her head tilte dto the side, "why doe sthis not surprise me. there is not much to speak upon. I am enjoying my stay here. so you need not worry..." she smiled, having caught on to his moods when it was her livilyhood involved. whether it was whom she went on a date with, to what she was doing around the castle. she could see the change in his face when it came to asking about other things such as what she was up to around the castle. kayos has me reading some history books and such. Which was a lie. She had been working harder on the glamour. it was tieing in fact to try and keep it going for so long. She miled and leaned back on the bench. she left the tone of te conversation drop. she pushe dherslefto her feet..."well i am tired." she gave that a sighn for the topic dropped both not comfortable with it.

Nick Corwin isn't ready to return to his room and fight Amazons for his own bed, but wasn't minding have company for a change either. Even the Amazons harbor fears of him, they used to tell horror stories about him when they were children. It's hard to get close to people who think you're the Boogy Man. "I wasn't worried." Nick is insaly good at lieing, but he very seldom does it. He catches himself on this and realizes it must be cause of his guilt, but chooses to ignore thoes thoughts and feelings. He then realizes how cold that sounds and thinks to soften it, but instead looks down and away. Life is easier when he has that cold blooded assassin image. A bit lonley, but easier. "If you wish to linger in the garden more, I could find somewhere else to be?"

Bella pasuign before she stood. She turne dto him and furrowed her brow. "you you think i dislike your company Nick?" She ha dthought just to out right ask him. She looke dat him. Her gaze hardened and more serious. A look that might look familar to him if he could place it. "I meant really Nick. i would leave if that were the case." she then pusjhed out and looked at the cloak of the far wall of the one building."Is taht the time....." she laughed looking at him, wondering....."If you want, you couldjust stay in my room. i promise that i will let you sleep..." she smiled at him, knowing he would reject the offer.

Nick Corwin looks at her a little oddly upon her first question. Of course she dislikes his company, who doesn't? No one in their right minds ever wants to sit down for a conversation with him, well unless they're family and even then they treat him like some odd thing they can't understand. He is the black sheep of the family so to speak and not just becuase he's been trained to be an assassin, but also because he's not as magicaly inclined as the rest of the Arepharis family. He does think her expression is a bit familiar, but people have simular expressions all the time, so he thinks nothing of it. He glances at the clock. "It's magical to not be wrong, and . . .. " He looks away again, blushing. "I'll make do."

Bella "come on your not sleeping, i'm not sleeping. We can just sit and chat in a comfortable bed. nice and cozy." she smirked and thought what a better time to try this. She curled against his form and pretended to be all cozy like. She smiled wondering if he would just push her down to the ground or say something smart. She smiled and waited

Nick Corwin looks at her oddly when she cuddles up next to him, but other than leaning away slightly, he doesn't really do anything. He'd really like to jump up and get away, but he's trying to remind himself she's not a danger. If she was, it'd have been found out already and she wouldn't be here now. "I." He can't seem to form the thought to finish his sentance. He doesn't want to go back to his room, but he doesn't want to crawl into any girl's bed either, espicaly not with her in it. He almost thinks to let himself go just this once, but quickly pushes that thought away. If people get close to you, they can get the drop on you, must stay on guard. "Don't you have any chairs?" Had meant ot ask what was wrong with the garden, it came out wrong.

Bella "there are main chairs, Nick, geeze." She looked at him, it was hard not to take that personal. She stod and looked down at him. "Look i offered becuase i...well i just did. You can make it really hard for people to ....be your friend you know. Look come if you want....I'm not twisting your arm..." she looked at him and then waved half hearted good night to him. Befor eher herself headed for her chambre. She was not tired, and could have used the company. But like most nights, it was chilly at this time of night. she looke dback at him and shoook her head, before she disappeared down the hallway to the stairs.

Nick Corwin gives a little shrug and decides to follow her anyway. He's got nothing better to do, and he'd kinda hoped she'd be different from everyone else at AmKelosh. He was kind of hoping for a friend, he hasn't really spoken to any of his old ones since he got locked into the palace and then Peter was reported missing. He'd have gone and looked for Peter if he could have and it eats at him that he didn't get to. Just one more thing to hold against Kayos. "I'm sorry, I guess I just spend too much time among the Amazons. They're ordered to keep an eye on me at all times ya know?" He realizes they're not here now, but that's cuase he gave them the slip. He does that a lot.

Bella ~pauses and turned back around to face him. A slight smirk to her lips. "you fear women too much." she chuckled at this little problem of niks'. Prehaps he just needed to have a friend chat to someone. Get to know them. "what happened to your friend, taht....oh who did kayos say...Princess.." she pretended not to recall the name...."He said you guys were somewhat good friend..." She smirked as she walked a bit ahead of him.

Nick Corwin thinks on what she says and thinks she might be right. He might have to think about it and see if he can use logic to correct whatever problems he has. Of course it's never that easy, but Nick likes to pretend it is. Logic fixes all things. But he also sees wisdom in what she says about getting to know one, he's never really had a female friend before. Except maybe one. "No, she isn't a priencess, just a noble from Hana'Var. Angel." His tone changes to show slight anger before he speaks again, "Kayos tried to use her against me, but she managed to get away. I haven't tried to contact her since then, for fear of her saftey."

Bella "her saftey...." Her throat closed up when he uttered that name. She furrowed her brow and her body posture changed. Her hands move dto tense about her shoes, as they were now in both hands...."Why would he use her?" She smirked wanting to know now. her hands tappping her shoes against her thighs. she smiled looking at him...."Just a friend or you were hoping for more.." She just teases him now. Seeing it works, and just to see him blush

Nick Corwin lets out a slight nervous laugh at her second question. He decides not to get into the first one, it'd only make his mood go sour and remind him of all the reasons he's angry with Kayos. "I could never get serious with a human woman." He suddenly realizes that might not be the best thing to have said, fore he doesn't know what race Bella is. "I mean time passes different for me, about the time I realize I want to get serious, she's dying of old age." He gives a little shrug. "Time just isn't with that type of match."

Bella "Your a snob Nick..." she laughed as she climbed the stairs. Turning about to face him. "You think taht by the time you find a girl she is too old, god, when will you stop making time yor enemy. i mean really get a grip of it. " she told him, turning about to walk up the tairs. She furrowe dher brow at her words. She couldnot believe she was talking like this to him. She took a few more steps and turned to make sure he was believe her still.

Nick Corwin laughs a bit louder. The way she says it does make sense, but he's never believed his own destiny is in his hands. He's got a birthright, which means he does whatever he's told and follows the rules and form of being a nobel. He'd love to take the bull by the horns and have control over all elements in his own life. "I didn't really like her in that manner anyway, she was engaged to one of my best friends." He suddenly gets a desire to be mischievious. "You'e not hitting on me, are you?"

Bella "Hit on you," she stiffle dthe chuckled and continued onward...."That was not the girl i was talking about. Kayos has mention this princess ...."she paused and tilte dher head looking at the ceiling as if it ha dthe answers upon it. "L...some bird type name....oh...." she looked razzled at her forgetfulness. Continuing on up the stairs. They finally reache dthe landing. she turne dto him..."why do you want me to hit on you...."

Nick Corwin is trying very hard not to lose his good mood at the mention of Lark. He'd never list her among his friends, she's gone out of her way to prove to him otherwise. She once shot him with his own gun, if she wasn't a princess he'd have killed her. Well, and his friends, Matt and Rayven would have gotten mad at him for killing her. He doesn't know what they saw in her, or how she fooled them. He stops and reguards her standing there looking back at him. Nick decides to be honest, which often is a fault in him, "I'm not sure. I haven't thought about it."

Bella nor i, but you just did. So you have givien it some thought. That is good to hear Nick. Prehaps there is hope for you after all." she lightly ta. Her room was on the other side of the castle all together. She turne dto look at nick. Awaiting his reply to what she said. Openning her door she headed inside. Tossing her shoes upon a nearby chair. she walked across the room. it was sparous, nothing truly special. She started to removed her jacket. tossing it upon her bed. She turned toawait nick. Wondering if he would chicken out at th last second.

Nick Corwin steps into her room, but is thinking about what she said. He's thinking that might be a little too deep for him, he's not really into philosophy. "I don't tend to think about it. If someting happens, it happens." He shrugs as he looks around for a place to sit. He doesn't stop to realize he forgot to shut the door behind himself, he's getting used to having Amazons do that sort of thing for him. A thought occurs to him that he's suposed to say something nice about her place when first seeing it, but then again none of this stuff is really hers, it was most likely already here when the room was given to her. He plops into a chair, one leg over the arm of the chair. He lifts both his hands to move the hair from his face which flew everywhere upon his plopping.

Bella looked over at him, "give it a rest. do Ihave to kiss you to make you act on something. Be a man for once act like one. sleep with women, be a guy...." She laughed, as if she knew what it meant. she was reacting like lark would speak. Though in a different light here. She looke dat Nick as she folded her jacket and placed it in the closet. "I mean really what have you to fear, a few i ahte your over breakfast." she chuckled as she tossed jumped onto her bed, in a rather causal manner.

Nick Corwin gives Bella a strange look wondering who's been saying what. His private life is something he tries to keep very private from everyone else in Kelosh, but that often leaves things open for people to make up whatever rumors they want. Often he doesn't care and let's them say whatever they want, but now he's thinking Bella is being fed some misleading information about him. But then again, something else comes to mind that might have lead to her line of conversation. "Are you trying to test me? I'm not gay." He sees no other reason she'd assume he doesn't sleep with women. But then on the other hand maybe she's still poking fun about the Amazons. That wouldn't be pleasure though, but business. They're doing their duty, not his type of woman. But then again, Vivian was both.

Bella studied him for a bit. She drew in a deep breahin and fell back against te bed. her hands curle dup behind her head. she stared at the ceiling watching it as the flames from the hearth flickered across it. She always liked a fire in he rroom. something she never had before."You need to just relax and take it slow, but not this slow, your bette roff dead...." she smirked at his words..."I did not say gay Nick, Your reading into my words again."

Nick Corwin gives a little shrug, but watches her, as if studing her. He's finally getting a bit more curious about her. Who is she? Where's she from? Why hasn't she left AmKelosh? These types of questions almost bring out the paranoina in him, but he tries to repress that. Most the time, those he meets are enemies until they prove they are friends. Bella is a bit different. She never did anything outright to prove she wasn't an enemy, it's just after saving her the thrid time, he figured she was save if she needed saving that often. "Well, don't misunderstand. Just becuase I won't sleep with the Amazons doesn't mean I don't," He pauses to try and think of how to say it, "have an active sex life."

Bella "You...." she almost chuckled at the factshe had him talking, "I mean Nick Iam not attacking your manhood at all. You need not puff up an. I mean master Wraith is all nuts ove rthem and a few o fthe other men about this place.d strut around. i believe you..." She chuckled, holding he rhands up at him, inprotest for him to stop. She chuckled as she rolled onto her belly. her head hanging ove rthe edge of the bed Looking at him..." Might i ask.....what is the deal with the amazons"I mean MasterWraith is nuts ove rthem, as are a few of the othe rmen about here. What is it about them, that says that I am not appealing?"

Nick Corwin looks away and blushes slightly realizing he was in fact defending his manhood. Most guys do it, but Nick likes to think of himself being beyond such silly issues of pride. Pride can be turned into a weakness. He wasn't aware that she knew Wraith, he hadn't mentioned that to him. But then they don't keep as much in touch through their mental connection as they used to. They've both been locking each other out more often. "My issues with them is that they were told by Kayos to . . . basicly sexually attack me every chance they get. They don't really like me, it's just a duty to them." He gives a little shrug, he assumes most people don't like him, but he's normaly okay with that. Friends can be used against you by your enemies.

Bella "You sound upset by the fact that they are ordered to like you. If it was you wanting them, does that change thing?" she asked looking over at him. she was wondering just how far she could get with this chat. her name drobe him nuts, angel angered him about kayos, and well he had no thoughts of bella. Just this innocent sweet person brfriending him. She tilte dhe rhea dto the side and smiled.

Nick Corwin isn't so sure about her line of questioning, but since he's never really gotten into this type of conversation that many times in the past, he's not sure how they typicaly are suposed to go. "They're just trying to get the drop on me or something. I'm not sure exactly what Kayos is up to, but I know he's up to something. I mean, I don't have anything to hide, so I have no reason to fear, but it still annoys the hell out of me. Women shouldn't be ordered to sleep with anyone. It doesn't matter if I want it or not, they don't really want me. I'm just a job to them." He gives a little shrug. He doesn't sound too mad, it's more like mater of fact. That's just the way things are and he can't change it.

Bella "you totally danced around my question. She smirked looking at him. Her hands curled under her chin. Her fingers resting against the edge of he rchin as she looked at him..."I did not realize it was a touch subject..."

Nick Corwin "It's not 'touchy' just annoying. Nothing I can do to change the situation, it's just one of those things you have to get used to and get passed." He looks down down and runs a hand through his hair. "Do we really need to talk about the Amazons? They're not even here." Then he realizes that they haven't been talking about themselves. In his case that might be a good thing, but he is curious to know more about her.

Bella "then you talk about something, ask anything...." she closed her eyes, her legs bent as she rocke dthem back and forth upon the bed. She drew her head down to the side looking ove rat him. Wondering if he would ask her anything. He was a little too quiet at times. She wondered just what it was she had seen in him. Prehaps it was all the missions and such, that ha her believeing thats he was in love with him. She furrowe dher brow at this point.

Nick Corwin gives a little shrug as if to say, he'd be the one to ask if she wants, he's got a lot of questions. She might have been better asking something of him. "Why don't you tell me more about yourself? Where are you from? What race are you? Why did you stay here, and what do they have you doing?" Would laugh if he ever thought anyone really liked him. He'd see no reason for it either. He knows himself too well, but then again he doesn't give himself enough credit either. He's probably the most cynical person in AmKelosh.

Bella looking up at him when he fired off all his questions. she thanked the stars in the heavens for what he asked. She had made sure that she could answer him. Her fingers laced under her chin..." More about me....Well i am from. i believe you ahve yet to tell me, just wher eit is that yor from and what you are? If you ask the questions you need to answer them first. "s he smield as she close dher eyes. thinking he wouldnever reply to that line of questioning.

Nick Corwin thinks that sounds resonable. If this was an interogation he'd be the only one asking questions, but he knows it's not uncommon among friends to answer the questions you ask. He has no problem going first. "I was born and raised in AmKelosh. Only at that time it was a space ship and moved around a lot. They used to call it the floating cort because of that. I don't know my race. No one knows what my mother is, she was found orphened when she was only five. And I don't know the other half of me becuase Kayos has forbidden anyone from telling me who or what my father is . . . or was. I stay here becuase Kayos forced me to and I recently decided I'd no longer be an assassin. No one has bothered to reasign me since then. I have a side job, but nothing for Kelosh." He then waits for her to speak, either to ask him to elaborate on any one of the answers he gave, or to answer his previous questions herself.

Bella ~ looking at Nick, she listened. It was rare that she did so. Usually she just fought with him. As Lark that was. As bella, she was cool calm and collected. Strange that he would not have thought of this before. but being her nature, or having to develop this nature. It was hard to not just blurt out just what she was, or who she was. But at this stage, that would be cruel. ~Cruel~ she thought it would be cruel to do that to Nick. she was changing. Her form lingered for a time in a bent position as she stirred the ambers in the hearth. She then turned to him..."Space?" She was surprised....sheer surprise in fact..." So you nor Kayos and the others are off this planet?" Her gaze lingered for a time upon him, then turned back to the fire. "I am surprised, is all..." she tried to hide her emotion behind what she was learning. As to what he was, or who his father was. She was uncertain if kayos had let it slip in conversation. She had some clue as to what he was. it was just she did not know what that truly was. She was not of this land. She was from the deepest of the furthest oceans on a planet long from these place. She tilted her head still listening to him. "It must be hard not know just what you are....i am....not knowing who your father is....why not ask your mother?" She left that question in the air for him to answer.

Nick Corwin hadn't really thought about space as a strange thing before. He's been so many places himself, though he's also spent a great deal of time on this planet. "Well, I have no idea where Kayos is from really." He gives a little shrug. He's had his whole life to get used to being born and space and not knowing what what he is. "It wouldn't do any good to ask her. Kayos has ordered her not to tell me who my father is or even what he is."

Bella looked at him...."surely there is someone that could find out for you? every thought of asking someone to help you?" she knew that he was just going to talk around it. Once Kayos' name entered the conversation. the tones changed and so did his moods. She had not realized just how much he hated, or disliked The man. Her gaze drifted at the reason for her involvement here. Telis was now Kayos'. She looked at Nick. He was now like telis, a piece of property. Her gaze flickered in anger for the moment.

Nick Corwin has alwasy felt like property when in AmKelosh, it's one of the reasons he stayed gone for so long and one of the reasons he'd like to leave again. Amazons were assassigned to him under the guise of bodyguards, but he knows they're really there to guard him and make sure he doesn't try to leave again. "There is no one that would know Kayos' secrets and want to betray him to share them with me." He gives a little shrug again and looks down and away. This conversation almost seems to be making him sad. His life is so far out of his own control he often feels trapped within it. He looks back up to Bella though, hidding his emotion once more behind that mask of stonic expression he so often puts on. "It's not big deal though. I'm used to it. Obviously my father never cared he had a son."

Bella Perhaps, or perhaps your mother never told him. that is a good possibility is it not." She said, her thoughts working over time Upon Nicks slight reason for his lack of emotion and much more to others. Could this be his fail safe. she almost wanted to chuckle upon seeing his change of emotion. He was a hard person indeed. And he pointed a waggling finger at her, saying she hates everyone, mainly men. This was rich. but for some strange reason she understood. She felt like wanting to ask kayos to free him. Kayos would just laugh at her. She had nothing else to give up for him. what else could she do?

Nick Corwin "Oh, he knows. He's actually written a law that prevents anyone from telling me, or me trying to figure it out through any means." This law has never stopped Nick. When he almost died and his body was healing, he did have DNA tests done on himself to try and figure out what he is. His stonic expression is in fact his defense mechanism, and his shield. He doesn't like to show weakness, and in a battle any emotion is a weakness. Though he's learned the hard way that emotions tend to make life worth living. He never should have given them up, but he's fixing that. "It's okay though. Really. I'm used to it."

Bella "use to it....I would want to know who my mother an father were if it was possible. It is not fair to be denied such think. Perhaps Kayo would tell me..." It was a laughable thought. And Nick would just stare at her in that same stonic way he always did. Her eyes drew back, showing just how much this pained her, or the way it pained lark. Her hand rose to run through her hair. Shaking it free as she listened to him....~its not fair."

Nick Corwin smiles softly, a little confused and a little touched that she's so passionate about such a thing in his life. He barely even knows this girl. He thinks maybe it's cause he saved her from a few bad situations and she's trying to repay the favor. He never saw it like that though. Matt might want rewards for being a hero, but Nick doesn't even think of himself as heroic. He just did what anyone would have done. "Maybe it shames my mother? I am the only bastard of the Arepharis family."

Bella "Arepharis.....perhaps the answer lies there. You could be such, yes?" she looked at him. Her eyes bright and alert to the thoughts racing in her head. Her back arched and she leaned toward him. Her hand out stretched and placed against his knee. "That could be it. Perhaps.....Is it a planet ....Are Arepharis from somewhere then here?"

Nick Corwin lets out a slight laugh at her enthusiasm over this issue. He starts to speak, but seems to have to think on it, and changes his mind. After a few seconds of thinking though he starts again. "No one knows where the name came from. When my mother was found at the age of five it was a name she gave when asked what hers was. For all we know it could have been her mother's name or the even a word in some other language. But it was taken to be her last name. I've looked many places but have never found any other references to it."

Bella "Ask her about it then. she would not be betraying kayos by telling you what it mans. " she was more into learning for herself now. she quickly stood and looked about the room. her form started to pace the floor now, thinking, much in the manner of lark. sh paused and stood silent for a time. A hand rose to tap her chin in thought...."It could not hurt...." She looked at him, wide eyed.

Nick Corwin is starting to wonder why this means so much to Bella, but continues to assume because she feels she owes him something for saving her. Heck he brought her here, that's almost a punishment isn't it? He's almost felt guilty about that. Almost. "She doesn't know. If she did, she'd track down her own family origins and find out what she is. Not for her sake, but for her children." His tone when speaking of his mother is much different then when he speaks of Kayos. Nick holds the highest regard and respect for his mother. "I'm sure she'd help me if she could. But it's just curiosities anyway, not really anything I have to know."

Bella looked at Nick. Her eyes flashed with a crazied look in them. Like something was working behind them, but not realling knowing what it would mean. She looked to Nick. Her gree eyes bright,"I will go to Kayos in the

Nick Corwin is getting a little lost in thier converation, they seem to jump around from his father to his mother, to his name and then back again to something else. He's not at all sure what it is she plans on asking Kayos, so will assume it's over what he just said. "I don't see how he'd know if she doesn't." He gives her a little puzzled look and wonders if her passion is interfering with her logic. Just another example why emotions are bad. "You might have better luck asking The Oracle, but you could be in big trouble if you were caught asking."

Bella "why is that?" her eyes came back in focused, her mood seemed dampened. he rhands resting under chin, as she leaned down on her bed. Her legs bent at the knee and swaying back and forth. She looke dat him in question...."I can handle trouble...."

Nick Corwin is starting to be reminded of past conversations he's had with Lark. He could never seem to follow her in a converastion either. He thinks he just gave a reason, yet she's asking for one anyway. So he does what any guy does in a confused coversation with a woman. He repeats himself. "Becuase if she didn't know to tell him, then he wouldn't have been able to find out." Then he realizes maybe her question was about the Oracle. Bella being a mortal girl dragged into this life on acident might not know the Oracle's powers. "The Oracle knows everything. But she only responds in riddles. Often complex." Or maybe she was asking why she'd get in trouble for speaking to the Oracle? "Asking her anything that's against the law to know or find out, would also be agaisnt the law. "

Bella "well we will see." She then left it that that. she turned her head to the side. Her eyes locked upon the far wall. "So, anything else to add." She kne wthe night was indeed way late. Perhaps he was bored by her chatter. Or that he wished to sleep. She looke dat him from the cornor of her eye. A passing thought....what would he think if he knew the truth. She shook her head anc chuckled...Right he would be pissed and hate her forever, if not already.

Nick Corwin finds her question odd. He doesn't have anything else to add, she's the one that started this conversation to begin with. Wait, didn't they start becuase he asked her where she was from, but she turned it around on him and then spent the last hour with question upon question about his life? He also wonders if it was a retorical question meant to end the coversation for the night, she does look away after all as if she's done with him. And then she laughed. He frowns and looks at her questioningly. "What?"

Bella turned and looke dta him, having not realized she chuckled out loud. She turne dback to him and smiled...."what what?" she had to think fast before he got annoied. She smiled a bit more...."Just thought about you and the amazons is all. " she chuckled trying to dismiss yet again what she had been really thinking

Nick Corwin is almost always annoyed with something. Her response doesn't seem to apease him any however. He frowns more and looks at her oddly. "The part where they guard me, or the part where they are always trying to hit on me?" The Amazon issue tends to be a sore subject with him, more so than not knowing who his father is. He doesn't really care who his father is that much, just minor curiousity. Afterall, his father never cared to find him, why should he find his father? But the Amazon thing is newer and he hasn't had as many years to get used to the idea. He'd probably kill them if he wouldn't get into too much trouble for it. And they've almost become something like friends.

Bella looked at him, noting that he was getting moody again. She stopped...."Okay never mind....It was not meant to get you angered at me. You really do need to lighten up with people. Not everyone is against you you know." she slipped to her side and moved from the ebd. She was a little hard pressed by him, and his moods at times. Or was it Lark that was. She shook her head and stood by the window. Openning it she stared at the sky. the soft pale purples coming through to mix with that of the midnight blues.

Nick Corwin wasn't getting angry at all, and if he was it was not directed at Bella, but the Amazons. He wonders if it's his attittude in general or hers toward him that would make her think that. She seemed like such a nice girl when they first met and even before they started this converastion, but there's something about the way she questions him and reacts to him that's starting to make him wonder if he really knows her at all. Well, of course he doesn't. She's just some girl he saved a few times and then brought home with him. He decides not to comment on the anger thing. He knows he's not a nice guy. He looks past her to the purplie night. "It's a good night for mischief." His tone is a little flat, he's just repeating a common phrase among the fey. He doesn't feal like mischief making. 1
