Time: day
Location: AmKelosh
Note:

Lark Sandstone Drew in a hard breath as she paced the corridor. she had given long and hard thought to her chat with rafe. she had actually gotten along with him , wit someone for a change. She pondered the thought that he might have told someone, anyone that she was not so hard to get along with. She smirked, knowing that was untrue. She haddroppe dthe glamour for a few days. Explaining that Bella had headed to her home town to see to an ill friend. She pace dthe corridor still wondering wehat to do next. Rafe had openned a strange unfamilar door for her.

Nick Corwin had a late start this morning it'd seem. Really he'd been up early, worked on some latest mod for his computer and then hit the shower. He's now walking back toward his room from the shower. He turns the corner and frowns at Lark's pacing. Such a strange woman, you'd think she'd pace in the privacy of her own room. Nick let's out a little yawn. He is wearing thin slippers, shorts, and an open bath robe. His clean shaven and well toned chest is bare for the viewing. Having Amazons around him every hour of the day for the last year has done a little damage to his modesty. A year ago he wouldn't have stepped out of his room unless he was fully dressed and all geared up for whatever job he had to do. But it's been a long time since he's had any job.

Lark Sandstoneheard foot steps, she did not nee dto turn about to see who it was. she knew. she had not been in this palace for how many years now, and around Nick this long to know know the very sound of him. She turne dand stood looking in his direction. her hands move dbehind her back and clenched together. She looked at him and never took her eyes off him. her demeanor nor her facial expression changed, she was placid for the time being. She had something on he rmind though.

Nick Corwin is like many people in that familiarity is comforting. Lark is not acting familar right now. She's silent and her expression is blank. Shouldn't she be going on about how much she hates all men and how horrible her life is being waited on hand and foot like a princess? Nick thinks Lark is so spoiled she can't even see how good she has it. At least she has her freedom. Nick gives a little shrug. He can't worry about Lark, she's too chaotic. Trying to figure her out would be like trying to robe the wind. He begins walking once more, heading to his room. Shame he has to pass Lark. But at least she's not one of those he has to worry about looking at him the way vampires look at prey just becuase he's not completely dressed.

Lark Sandstone ~Summing up what curage she had or needed. She stepped toward him. her eyes blinking as she did so. She swallowed hard and thought of her chat with rafe. she would offer a smile, a chanting one, but no he would be suspusious of her he rhands moved from behind her back as she approache dhim...."Nicholas..." she thought to adress him formal, as they were indeed not informal with one another. she steppe dtoward him, not blocking his path nor stopping himin anyway. She tones where more soft, and in Question, or te question taht wa lingering in her thoughts

Nick Corwin has no reason to think Lark is out to get him. Not really. She can be annoying and at times will explode in a man-hating display of sexism. But despite that she led a team to attack him once, he doesn't see any reason to fear her or be too causious around her. He pauses again as she calls his name. He gives her a funny little look. Other than his family she is the only one that has ever called him Nickolas. It's not the first time though, she used to call him that all the time, so it doesn't set off any alarms. "Are you feeling okay?" She seems a little off so he thinks maybe she's sick. She seems to be needing something, or wanting to ask something and as far as he knows he doesn't have anything to offer anyone.

Lark Sandstone "Uh...i was wondering...." she thought it best to hit him with the question then dance about it. Rafe had told her to be open. to not hold the wall before her and then let the barrier up when she did not get the answer she wished....she looke ddown then back at him, her dullpurple orbs were at the moment rather bright in their radiance...she chewed on her bottom lip then spat it out...."i was curious if you wishe dto go to the beach with me this day... taht is now...yes...now i er....well.."

Nick Corwin is a bit surprised she'd ask that. It sounds very odd coming from her like this is some weird dream and she's someone else looking like Lark. He reguards her strangly as if trying to figure out what she's up to. But then on the other hand he really needs to get out of the palace. He hasn't been allowed to step out of the palace for a year or so. Maybe less, maybe more. It feels like a whole lot longer. He finaly just gives a little shrug. "Well you'd have to get premission from Kayos. And I'm sure he'd say at least two of the Amazons would have to go too, but," He shrugs. "sure if he says it's okay. I'm up for a day at the beach."

Lark Sandstone's face softened and she smirked, well, as close to a relieved smiles as she could get. "Okay...." She drew back a step, forgetting at the moment that she would have to ask kayos for permission first. why did that always slip her mind. "Okay...you stay here...or come with...adn...we will see what he says..." She drew her left hand back across her brow, scratching her brow as she turned, looking about herself as if she lost something. Mor ethe lost thought then anything material. Her purple amethyst gaze came back to nick's, they held a more calm look then her form did.

Nick Corwin starts to speak, but then seems to think about it and closes his mouth agian. He glances down at himself and then grins a bit. "Well I really think I should finish getting dressed. Maybe hunt some beach gear down." He really just doesn't like being around Kayos anymore. He's still loyal, but he sees Kayos in a different way now. "Why don't you just go ask, then get ready and come back to my room to get me?"

Lark Sandstone "very well..." she took in his demeanor. strange how he did not wish to accompany her to Kayos chambre. But then again, he had his reasons. "I shall not be long then." She smiled briefly and turne don her heals. Heading quickly, if not in a full out run toward the main chambres looking for Kayos. she had stopped a guard and asked js where the rules or Amkelosh was.

Lark Sandstone had been gone for what felt like a long time. It had indeed been over an hour, now it was noon. she made her way back toward Nick's room. she had received word from kayos. She stood before Nick's door. her right hand tightly held into a fist slowly tapped against his door. softly at first then getting her confidence up she knocked a little louder for him to hear. stepping abck she rocked upon her heels waiting

Nick Corwin answers the door when she knocks. There is laugher of women coming from the room, but that is a very common thing now. The Amazons often seem happy, which might be strange since Nick seldom seems happy. Maybe they have to make up for it to keep a balance? Nick is smiling brightly. He's really excited. This will be the first time he's been out of the palace in a long time. He's all dressed in his shorts and has a towel with him. One of the Amazons holds a huge beach ball, and the other a beach bag full of goodies. Cerebus barks once in greeting to Lark and then walks up to lick her hand. Nick gives the dog a strange look, as if he didn't know the dog liked Lark.

Lark Sandstone looks down at the dog, a bit surprised herself by cerebus's behavior perhaps he is just happy as well to get out. she smirked an dlooked inside the room..."Nickolas?" she called in rather softly, unsure of what would greet her. "Kayos has allowed you to leave the castle for the beach , but you must bring the amazon. " she looke dto nick as he appeared in the doorway looking surprised as she was by the dog and the look on nick's face

Lark Sandstone stood for a time rather silent at first the look on Nick's face she had seen a long while back. the beach when she had learned that he was alive again. she smirked as she looked at him...he must just love the bach. She loke dhim over. he was very ready for the beach. she knew he would be in some strange way.

Nick Corwin didn't have that much to change. He never got fully dressed after his shower so it was very easy to just slip into beach going clothes. Nick loves the beach too. He didn't miss that Lark said Amazon, not Amazons. She might have meant more than one but he laughs a little as he thinks of leaving one behind. Only two are ready to go. But then these two have become his friends and he couldn't ask one to go and not take the other. They might get bored. He feels a little strange not carryign a weapong with him, and the Amazons are not armed either, but their is a fine beach in AmKelosh. They don't have to leave the safety of the city. In fact is that same beach Lark is thinking about, where she found him after she thought he was dead. Technicaly it can be argued he did die. "I'm ready."

Lark Sandstone "Well then let us go then?" she looke dto him, then to the two guards. she had changed on her way back from speaking with kayos. nothing strange or any different then she was use to. though she did not know about actually going into the water. Being a Siren and all. she furrowe dher brow at the thought. well, at least they would be at the beach. Possibly getting to be on better trems.

Lark Sandstone ~things would be alot easier if she could just get passed ... just that the past. she drew in a hard breath and smiled toi herself as she pet cerebus roudn the throat..."you coming to?"

Nick Corwin smiles and steps aside so one of the Amazons can move past him and leave the room first. His mother did right in raising him to be a gentlman, but then again he is a noble of the second most powerful family of the Kelosh empire. The Amazons head for the door with smiles on their faces. It's the ones known as Karyn and Dekya. Cerebus barks once and then his tongue lolls out of his mouth as he pants, his tail wagging fiercly. The day seems brighter to Nick. Like some dark cloud has lifte. It's just the small taste of freedom. Not much would be able to dampen his spirits today.

Lark Sandstone headed down the corridor toward the main coutryard. In due time they would be at the beach and for the rest of the day. Well would be well it had to be. she drew in a breath and exhaled. she made her way to the stairs taht lead to the pathway toward the beach. From time to time she would look back at nick and the others. Cerebus ran up ahead from wher ethey were. She could not help but chuckle

Nick Corwin contines toward the beach in the same good tone. In his excitement Cerebus would sometiems run too far ahead. When this happens the dog seems to change a little. He'll growl and seem to grow agitated until Nick is once again a certain distance from him, then he's back to his old self. Cerebus is Nick's familar and is an evil outsider. An evil creature from the Realm of Shadows. It's only when Cerebus is in range of Nick that the dog is kind and loyal. When he gets out of range, his true nature starts to show. Though Nick is sure all the time spent as his familar has altered the dog's alignment a bit. But then it's not really even a dog, just looks like one. Once they get to the sand, the girls will look for a good spot and set up a net for beach vollyball. Nick doesn't feel like playing.

Lark Sandstone unfolds her towel and spreads it out acros sthe sandy beach. She pauses for a moment. her amethyst orbs taking in the tiny grandules of sand. As her fingers rake acros sthe surround, slowly digging into it she leans back upon her feet. a soft light hearted sigh escapes her lips. It had been far too long away from the water. She looke dto the ocean that stretche dout before them. the world had possibilities, and yet swimming seem to be the biggest fear for her at the moment. she looked back at he rtowel, ~remian on shore would indeed be wise~

Nick Corwin walks over to where Lark is and lays his own towel down. There are extra ones in Deyka's bag, so he doesn't worry about getting sand on it. He crashes onto the blanket and stares up at the sky adn the clouds. It's so vast, it's hard to imagine freedom can be taken away. But his was taken away. In fact it was Lark that was there, she'd come looking for him. He doesn't hold that against her. She was just following orders. He puts his hands behind his back, one of his knees bent as he lays on his back. He glances over at Lark and sees she's watching the ocean. "Can you see them?"

Lark Sandstone looking at Nick then in the direction tat he was looking. "see what?" Her brow furrowed as she looked rather hard at where nick was looking. Her head tilte dto the side. She shoke her head and continued to busy herself with the onstant priming of he rtowel. she then thought that she would wor on her tan. She had gathere dher hair back behind her shoulders, looping it about into a ponytail, then up off her shoulders in a loopy bun. she looke dback at Nick, he sat there still staring..."what is it?

Nick Corwin was looking at Lark, but can't help but laugh. She suddenly makes him think of war zones or something. There's no enemy coming, and none could come here. It was just a fluke that night that Aleez kidnapped him out of AmKelosh. Security has improved a thousands times since then. "I mean the armies of Dark Waters. The sirens and nymphs playing in the ocean." He rolls over on his stomach and looks out at the ocean. He'd layed down on the towel the opposite way Lark did, so the end her head is on is the end his feet is on. "Can you imagine how much fun they must be having? Being in water is a lot like flying. You're sorta weightless and free." He lowers his head a bit and lets out a small laugh at himself before looking over his shoulder at her. "But then I guess you know all that?"

Lark Sandstone "why ar eyou not in the water then, go join them, if your allowed?" she rolled her arms behidn her head and leaned back against the sand. shifting herselfonto her towel. getting comfortable as she could on sand. She smirked at the thought. Playin in the water. she would be better here on dry land. or perhaps that was the trouble. As she looked downat nick from the side of her arm, she frowne dher brow in question...."what make syou think or say that?"

Nick Corwin watches the waves awhile longer and then with a sigh he rolls over and looks up at the sky again. Just laying her and watching the clouds go by means so much more to him then anyone can imagine. "I'm not sure I'd be allowed, an the Amazons couldn't go. I can breath underwater, they can't. And I just figured you know what it's like since you're from the ocean." He glances over at Lark again. "I mean you were born and raised in Telis right? And you went back there with Remi a few years ago." He gives a little shrug. "Just acknowldging you have the same experiance and it was silly of me to tell you about things you already know."

Lark Sandstone "I try to forget...." she turne don her side away from him, rolling slowly ove ron her stomach, her head turne daway from him. she curle dher chin into her forearm. She woudl like to forget the pass. She not been in the water since she returned form her visit with Remi. She had almost lost that thought. she was happiest in the water, she was happiest when her family dwelled in telis. Now, she was more improsioned on land then nic wa sin the castle, but her's was by choice. "I am sur ethat kayos would alot it this one time. I asked him if it include dthe water, he simply nodded a yes...go swim..."

Nick Corwin gives a little shake of his head, causing his hair to do a wild dance. "Nah, maybe later. Just feel like enjoying the sun right now. The sun doesn't shine in the palance ya know." He cloes his eyes for a bit and takes in a deep breath with a smile on his face. It just feels nice to be out again. He can hear Cerebus and the Amazons playing. He can sear the surf and the birds. And off in the distance is the sound of life about the palace, people, ships, cars, work going on, training in progress. It all seems different to him now than it did so long ago. But he's aware his alignment has been shifting. He's not sure that's good, he's been on the path from evil to good, but Kayos is still quite evil sometimes. How can good work for evil?

Lark Sandstone leaning back down, she could not help but feel out of sorts this day. She had managed to get nick out of the castle. And in a good mood it seemed. her fingers drumed against her forearm as she hummed to herself. "Yeah I know that the palace lacks most the qualitie sthat Telis held. " she close dher eyes and rocke dher head back and forth as she continued to hum to herself. Her thoughts set adrift as she drew her fett up, bending her knees and locking her ankles behind one another she swaye dthe from side to side for a bit. If she did not give away the fact that she was slightly unsettled she would have to question Nick's abilities to pick up on these emotions that he use ot be so keen at doing.

Nick Corwin laughs a bit, "The sun doesn't shine in Telis either." He glances over at Lark to try and judge how well she takes the sun. It has occured to him all of the sudden that she is a water creature. She's not meant to stay on the land for long periods. He wonders if it causes pain or damage to her to remain here. The sun shines bright overheard with only a few little clouds. The sun also refects brightly off sand and water, making it all that much brighter and hotter. The ocean is very cold and colder as you go deeper. Most water creatures Nick knows don't care much for the heat. Lark always seems unsettled to him. He doesn't think she's the type to ever try and relax. She's too high strung and hard on herself. He's learned a long time ago not to ask her what was wrong or try to help.

Lark Sandstone's lips curl into a smile, "how wrong you are Nickolas." She knew more then him after all. That was when it came to Telis. Her head tilted back, her eyes perking open a bit. Her left eye adjusts from dark to brightness of the reflection of the sun against the surf and sand. She then looked to the sky. the sun was indeed very hot. she felt her skin growing crisp at the mere thought of it. Recalling the way that the sunlight could brust through the water with enough force that it would light the bottom depth that human fomr could not reach. Like crystal the palace liked unde rthe rays of sunlight that escaped through the water. She had many times swam about the rays, trying to catch them, a foolish thought but she was foolish then. Much more foolish in a good way then now.

Nick Corwin does not feel like aruging and being told he was wrong sounds like the begining of an arumgent. He would have figured he'd have heard Remi complain had there been sun there, but then again he hadn't heard from Remi in a very long time. He guesses that being a warlord keeps a man busy. He hopes that's not his fate. Sometimes Nick prefers the cold of the ocean. His baths and showers are often cooler than most would like, they're never cold, but never steaming either. "Mind if I ask what inspired you to invite me to the beach?" It dawns on him that she's doing a huge favor for him and might ask for something in return later. But then that's not her style. She'd have just asked and expected him to give without reciving.

Lark Sandstone senses the tension in the air at her choice of words....turning to face his feet, seeing as they are at her head. She stared at them for a moment. she had never realized that his feet were so.....~ she smirked and turne dher head about to face his face. Twisting her back as she arche dit, and pushe dup on her elbows. "what i meant was that your not wrong in the sense of being...wrong... You have never been to telis and therefore would not kow what i have seen countless times. " she offered a smile to ease things. then the question why did she invite him. Why indeed. she had lost her mind set for a moment...."why?" she paused....looking at the back of his black head of hair...."I just thought that you needed an escape is all..." she recalled the time she had seen him on the beach before, he was happy from what she could tell. Why not try to get along there, build from that experience..."nothing more...."

Nick Corwin understands what she's saying, but is weary around any topic that seems too passionate. He has often tried to figure out what makes them fight and stop doing it. Kayos told him he had to. But he could never find the source of the problem. He is sure they're both equaly to blame for whatever it is. He doesn't care enough and she cares too much, but pretends she doesn't. "I did." He looks back up at a small cloud in the sky, watching a space ship come in to land at the nearby port. He briefly wonders if one ever acidently hits a kerujin, the winged people of Kayosia. "It feels kinda bitter sweet though. I know it won't last. Kayos has become a real prick lately."

Lark Sandstone shook her head at what he said..."what?" she was indeed lost. Perhaps she needed to follow this conversation a bit better. Twisting herself about she moved herself into a siting position now. Looking at Nick, a furrowed brow and all. "you lost me there...." Was he saying that he had been to Telis or what? she shook he rhead again as she leaned up against her legs. Rubbin them as they starte dto get itchy from the sun.

Nick Corwin laughs again, his laughter still holds a bit of the excitement of being out and tasting freedom. His jade green eyes seem to soak up the sun and become greener. They don't really, just all the brightness makes the contrast between his eyes and hair seem sharper. "You said you thought I needed an escape, I was agreeing with you." He looks over at her with a smile on his face. It's a real smile which might not be something she's used to. But it's a lot like the last time they were on a beach together, this beach. "Not used to me agreeing? I do it more than you ever realized." That is true, he's agreed with her many times in the past, but she always heard it as an argument and argued back. He just figures she's got a lot of issues she's never worked past.

Lark Sandstone "oh, well....okay then..." the left sid eo fher lip quirked up (doing a Joey Potter type of smile hehhe) She was not use to him agreeing, that she was aware of. she almost fel over when he smiled..."you should smile more, you look less intense." she pushe dherself to her feet and moved from her beach towel. Her autumn locks fell behind her shoulders as she move dtoward the water. Thoughts of swimming were indeed getting stronger in their urging. She left Nick upon his towel as she made her way toward the edge of the water. Making sure that it just barely touched the tips of her toes. She had a two piece baathing suit on. Not taht she was shy about her body, she just never thopught about it being a factor in anything. her form was soaking up as much sun as she could, but not handling the heat to well. ~a swim, yes that would help...~ what was she sayin, she was trying to forget that she was siren, taht she needed the ocean, that she needed her past, taht she needed anything. her form tensed at teh waters edge. hands clenche dinto tight fists as she stood there staring at the water

Nick Corwin watches Lark walk off with a strange look on his face. Had he thrown her off by agreeing? Was this the first time she's really noticed. Part of him thought she'd noticed before but just wanted to argue and cause trouble. He thinks about what she says and she's probably right. He hadn't really smiled since before Priss. After that he imersed himself into his work as an assassin, and that never made him smile. But now that he's stopped killing for a living, he could try to act like a normal person. That might help him find peace within himself and agains his inner demons. He stands and follows Lark to the ocean after seeing her stand there for a few seconds doing nothing. He steps up next to her, not seeming to care if water touches him or not. He left his sandles at the towel. "You know what they say. When in doubt as to move forward or stand still, you move forward."

Lark Sandstone looks at Nick, then back to the water...."easy to say, harder to do. i wonder if you take that advise yourself. " she smirked and move dher hand to he rbrow, pulling her hair back once again. it was annoying at times her hair. Fussing ove rit as she had to, or was force to do so. Being a lady in the palace called for her appearance to be up to snuff. she almost laughed aloud. "you stuck in the same place that you were in before...are you not...since well ...that is not my business is it now." She turned and slowly took a step back from the water.

Nick Corwin looks over at her in question as she speaks and waits for her to explain. He then shakes his head a bit and laughs. "Yeah, I feel stuck, but there's no doubt. I already tried to leave once and Kayos had me hunted down. I'd have to leave everything I know and all my family and friends behind to truly get out of his reach. But then I'd feel wierd. Kelosh is all I've ever known. I don't really want to leave at all." He looks back out over the water as if looking past the horizen and to the many things the future can hold, or all those things he can see but not touch.

Lark Sandstone could go on about this all day. But it was not what she was here for. she had to try and get along with Nick and it was working. that was until she starte dto feel a flex in her charcter. she felt the same way she had always felt. In Kayos eyes at one times NIck was the apple, regaurdless of how he maintained it. Mostly by the death of those that Kayos wished. She looke dto Nick and smiled. She could have been one of those people, but using her femine ways she was able to escape that fate. But perhaps kayos punishment for her was in fact just this life she was living now. She smirked and stepped back to where he stood. Slowly moving herself out infront of him, the water inches from her heel... a whimsical look upon her face, almost that look of a child that had a wish come true..."Tell you what. Fresh start.... you take that plunge into tryinh to make things work with kayos and you, reguardless of how you feel about how evil he is, and i shall try to forget i am a brat and a pain in the ass." she thought that perhaps he would laugh at her tone and her true char shining through the cracks of a bitter young woman.

Nick Corwin takes a step back as Lark unexpectedly steps in front of him. He's not on edge as he used to be however becuase of the Amazons. Having them around him all the time has softened his edge by a lot. He is aware of it and hates it, not knowing it was part of Kayos' plan. Kayos wants them to get Nick to the point where he's not afraid to be touched anymore, and they're coming close to that. Nick is starting to realizing that letting someone close isn't always a bad thing. Fresh start sounds good. But haven't they tried that before? He wonders if they can make it work this time. "Well none of it's my fault. I didn't do anything wrong." Unless you count trying to leave. Nick doesn't see why that was such a big deal anyway, it's not like he's done anything since he's been back. He's just been a useless noble sitting around a palace.

Lark Sandstone "true..." she would let that slide, but he did not have to know what she thought. In fact no one did. Bottle it up and cork it away. she smirks as she looks to the water...."clean slate...." the water looked all to inviting, yes it did. Perhaps he was right, if she just dove in things would be better, she would be better. ye sthat she would do, for the sake of hers and those around her. "very well..." she then ran at the water full force until she arched he rback and through her arms up ove rher shoulder and then her head, her lgs tensed and she pushed against the sandy bottom of the shoreline, water now to her waist. She dove under the water and swam out. The feel o fthe water as it rushed against her flesh. the salt water was indeed missed by her pours. She had kept her eyes open, she was immune to the salt and it did not sting her like it did normal humans. She inhale, drawing the water into her lungs, unusal for most and yet not for her. This was all new and freshing, yet it was old in how it was all done. Exhaling, she slowly swam to the surface. Her hair slick against her head. She turne dabout toward the shore and looked at Nick, waving her arm up out of the water at him.

Nick Corwin starts to question her when she responds. She seems to be hidding something, or she thinks more on the matter but isn't saying. He knows it'd be a bad idea to ask, so he hesitates just long enough to lose the oppritunity. He shuts his mouth again and smiles softly as she offers a clean slate. He wonders if they can get along this time. He's changed a lot since the first time he's met her, but then on other levels he doesn't feel like he's changed at all. Dying does make you see the world differently though. He watches he go out into the water and dive in. He can't help but think it'd be good for her if she stops denying her nature. At least she knows what that nature is. He doesn't even know what he is. A swim would be really nice and AmKelosh extends out into the water quite a bit. There's a palace down there somewhere. It's close to the shore near a cliff as it is linked to the shore as well as to the water. Most of it is underwater however, it's where Prince Remington, Warlord of the Sea lives, along with his family and some of his army. Nick is aware of them, but unconserned. They won't bother anyone swimming, and most likely won't even watch if they were around this close to shore. Nick runs out into the water , but he doesn't dive. He just starts swimming when he can't run and leap over the waves anymore. Each wave trying to push him back toward the shore.

Lark Sandstone could not help but laugh, a true, pure heart felt laugh as she swims about the in the water. It had been almost two years since she last swam. the thing being when she did this, her true nature, that siren in her caused more trouble then it was worth. She smiled as she felt the twisting of her form, the sound of bones shifting and her pair of legs tking on the tail tat was genuinely her. Her form spun in countless circles, bending and twisting in unnatural ways to a human. She smiled as she bent her form toward the newly mored tail, hugging it as if to accept this to be just who she di dnot wish to be, almost like someone else was living in her now. she smiled in a loving way to her form now, her hair flaring about the water, flowing about her form. she gave her tail a flick and she perpelled herself to the surface. Breaking it she spun out o fthe water with such force that she was able to dive across the surface about ten feet. Reentering the water with no mor ethen a soft splash.

Nick Corwin isn't sure he's ever directly watched Lark swimming in her true from before. That's not the type of sirens that work for Kelsoh. The sirens Kelosh has don't have tails and fins, but legs like humans. There are other merfolk that do have tails, but most never see them, as they can't leave the water. Even Remi can't leave the water for more than an hour at a time, his lungs just aren't designed to breath air. He'd suffocate the same way a land person drowns, his lungs would fill with too much of the lighter air and stay collapsed, not being able to expand to get in more air. Nick breifly wonders if he should be worried aobut this strange mood she seems to be in, but he can breath underwater, so even if she decides to pull him under in some game, he'd be safe.

Lark Sandstone swam toward him. Breaking the surface she locks her gaze with his. she then smiled and bods before him, with ease she swirls he rform about him and chuckles..."oh you were so right. i did need this...." Her skin had indeed altered as well. The tan flesh was replaced with a more sleeker skin, almost silvery, scale like, but not fish like. It was smooth if one wished to glide a hand along it. she smiled as she surfaced before him again..."I could just hug ou." Strange mood indeed she was in. Physical contact, she would have to give him cpr if that was the case.

Nick Corwin does not know what to say or do. He's never seen her like this. He's not sure now she wasn't put under some Moon Knight curse. This is just so different then what he's used to seeing her as. On the one hand he can understand how being back in her element would make her feel free and alive again. He doesn't think she should have neglected it so long. No one ever feels right denying their true nature. He might feel better if he could find what his is and embrace it. "Um, have you been talking to purple haired girls lately?" He briefly holds a hand up, palm out, and gives her a look mixed with question, worry, and amusment. "And please don't."

Lark Sandstone "don't, don't what...touch you?" she smiled rather mischieviously at him, her form disappeared unde rthe water only to reappear behind him. She threw her arms about his shoulder, before really thinking of what she was doing. the siren in her having its way with such barriers that Lark had place dbefore hersel. She smirked as she did this, wonderin the reaction, or just knowing what it would be.....

Nick Corwin frowns a bit and thinks that saying not to might have been a bad idea. He starts to call out as she goes under the water, but is too late. He looks back to the shore and the Amazons who seem to be watching. He has come out too far and was out of range from Cerebus. Cerebus does not seem to be around anymore however, which means he most likely went back to his own plane of existance until he's called again. It might do the beast good to be in his own element once more. But then on the other hand thinking about Lark it might not be so good for the beast either. Or good for them, bad for Nick. Nothing ever really seems to go his way, though does it? Odd, that doesn't make him feel bad. His thoughts are interupted by Lark coming back to the surfance and wrapping her arms around him. This is a vunrable position to be in, but then she's not the enemy. He reminds himself he's immune to her call and he can breath underwater. There's nothing she can do to him. He's almost reminded of all those times he and Simmara have gone swimming together. He lets out a startled gasp, but then laughs a bit nervously. "What are you up to?" His tone is more like that you'd use against a mischievous child you think is about to try and steal a cookie.

Lark Sandstone releases him and smiled...."wow, you did not struggle or hit me....good for you Nickolas..." she then dove unde rthe water and swam into the depths. her heart was light much lighte rthen she had lit it becoime in such a long time. she smiled at the feeling of this freedom. And nick of all peoplke she had to thank. and she had. But soon she would have to return to the surface and the land.Back to her post and it sickened her. She paused and sat there in the midst o fthewater, pondeirng a thought. ~escape~ Perhaps nick ha dthe right idea, escape form Kayos....she lingere dthere for alomst too long....

Nick Corwin lets out a little laugh. She was testing him? How odd. He has gotten the impression lately that Kayos has sent people to test him or find out things on him. That's why he befriended the Amazons instead of being mean to them. He turned them into his friends so they'd be less likely to turn on him. He wonders if Lark will move out into the underwater palace now. Everyone had expected her and he'd heard a room was made ready for her, but he refused it. She is a princess however, so it's not like anyone would deny her a room in the underwater palace. He watches the gleaming surface of the water as he bobs up and down with the waves, waiting for her to surface again. He doesn't feel like diving down there and seeing the life below the surface that is watching him. He'd rather remain up here.
