Time: afternoon
Location: Sunny day at AmKelosh
Note: It was Kayos' idea that Lark pretend to be someone else in order to try and see Nick how Nick treats others. Lark tends to take Nick's attitude personaly, but he treats most people like crap. He just doesn't realize he does.

Nick Corwin is standing on a balcony off the third floor of the AmKelosh palace. He has both hands on the rail and leans out slightly. There is a small smile on his face as he's just trying to enjoy a nice afternoon. The sun shines brightly, but the air is started to get a little cooler, though it's not cold yet. It never gets very cold in AmKelosh. Kayos likes it warmer. The wind gently sweeps across the trees causing the leaves to dance and whisper. Cerebus is at Nick's side, but for now there is no Amazon in sight. They're starting to slack up off Nick a bit and he's enjoying the new taste of freedom.

Bella moved cross the grounds of the castle. she had just come from a meeting with Kayos. she had to make herself seen in the castle so that Nick would believe that she was indeed someone she was not. she moved with great care to not let any of lark's mannerisms show through her facade. Her gaze drifted along the cobble stone ahea dof her. the air was warm and thin, she smiled, loving days like these. she drew in a deep breath an looked skywardly. Her green blue eyes slowly opened as she took in the suns rays, blinking a bit as she saw the dark images upon the balcony in the distance over head

Nick Corwin catches sight of a slight movement below and quickly looks down. He has very good memory and it's rare he forgets someone that makes any type of impact on his road of life. He's saved Bella from two different bar brawls and then at some other time found her in the rain where she passed out and he brought her here. His life was so chaotic at the time he never did find out what happened to her after she got here. If he remembers right Lance helped her after that or something. He'd have thought she would have run far away from Kelosh and stayed away. It's what he'd think any smart person would do. He would if he could. He watches her to see where she is going and what she will do next. He pays close attention to her body language and expression to try and read her motive and feelings.

Bella she felt the eyes upon her. She thought fast and turned one way then the next. ~look lost~ yes that was it, she was lost~ she place dher thumb to her chin and furrowed her bro win a way that lark would not, she almost looked endearing as she tappe dher index finge rto her lip. She drew in a deep breath and smiled toherself. For some reason she smiled, feeling her face grow a bit red as she felt the gaze narrow. he was studying her. this had to work, it had to.

Nick Corwin thinks of how long it'd take him to get all the way down there through normal means. Thinks of all the Amazons and such that would stop him along the way and ask him where he was going and why. He glances at the ground below the balcony and then in a flash he leaps over the railing. He lands on the ground with a soft thump, his knees bent with the impact and his hand went before him to steady him. He doesn't seem at all bothered from the three story drop though. He stands and makes his way toward Bella. Cerebus, still on the balcony, barks twice. Nick raises a hand and the dog grows quiet. Cerebus whines and looks back at the door, but knows it's cause too many questions is Cerebus was running through the palace without Nick.

Bella her fingers curled under her chin, as she looked about dazzled and bewildered. Her long blond locks fell back across her shoulder. She drew in a deep breath trying to calm herself. to one she would appear lost and her mannerisms would reveal that as well. she was about to keep walking when she heard the whinning. But she did not turn about to look. she just walked on, Nick had made no attempt to call out of stop her. to her she did not know he was there

Nick Corwin pauses with a frown as Bella starts to walk off. He's fully aware how many feet he is from AmKelosh. He could be in huge trouble just for leaving the palace, so walking away from it could only get him in deeper. Cerebus suddenly goes into a barking fit. Nick turns suddenly, ducking as he turns to look up at his friend. He straightens himself back up and glares at the dog. There is no imediate danger, but all that barking could call attention to what he's doing. He starts to take a step back toward the balcony and the barking dog, but pauses to glance over his shoulder toward Bella. Should he avoid being tortured by slipping back into the palance unknown, or should he risk his health by helping the lost girl?

Bella hearing the dog, she slowly turned. She did not wish people to question the fact that she was not at all drawing into question by the barking dog. plus she had to get Nick to notice bella , or thsi form at lease. she turned slowly and looke dto the dog...."poor thing....." Her tones were soft and a slight accent to it. She had thought that she had used it before to throw nick off, it worked then it could work again. Her green eyes bright and warm look up at the dog then slowly to nick as he looked up.

Nick Corwin glances back at the dog, which finally stops barking, but sits there whining. Nick's gaze narrows at the large chocolate lab. His features soften to the blank expression he's becoming famous for as he turns fully to Bella. Before his death he was always smiling, but since then it's very rare he smiles at all. "Are you lost?" She looks lost to him, but for all he knows she sold her soul to Kayos when Nick brought her here that time. He never checked back up on her. She's not dead though, so she must have already been deemed not to be a threat to the empire. Otherwise they would never have let her heal and leave.

Bella You are Kayos' son yes?" She spoke as if to question herself, she did not wish to appear to have answers that she shouldn't. Her fingers uncurled then curle dagainst her side. "this place is rather large and i feel i have lost my way once again." she stepped closer to where he stood. Pondering if he would know or not. She was curious now. what if....~stop it girl~ she cursed herself within her own mind as she looked at him, chewin on her bottom lip. Her eyes narrowed as she ooked at him, in question, to give ris eto the fact she thought she knew him. Her hand uncurled and she steppe dtoward Nick...wondering if this would working and knowing it should. She paused and watched him waiting to see if he woudl recognize her. "that I am...." she looked at him a little more closer...."do i know you.... You seem familar...." she smiled at him, something inside told her to do what she would not normally do. Be pleasant. Gah, this was hard.

Nick Corwin starts to laugh at her question. He's not a prince, he's no one important at all. His hint of a smile fades and he watches Bella even more carefully as she steps toward him. He doesn't really care to be crowded and there's no need for her to come too close to him. There is plenty of space outside. He frowns a bit, though his eyes are not angry, they're as sad as they always are. "Well you did have a few fights start over you at the Zone and I was there. And I'm the one that brought you here." He gives her an apologetic shrug as if being brought here is the worst thing that could ever happen to anyone.

Bella "it has been some time." her drew in a long heartfelt sigh...."that is true, my mind seems to have slipped as of late. I do remember that you did help me out. I believe i never said thank you." she smiled hoping he would lighten up. god was he like this with everyone. she groaned inside, what did she see in him. she pondered that a lot lately. "I was called here to do some work on the landscapes it seems, that and some art work, i have an eye for such things and lord Kayos had asked that i come and look about. " she did not know what lie to give but it was not like lark and therefore had to work.

Nick Corwin isn't surprised she doesn't remember as well a he does. His memory is freaky sometimes, and hers seems to be that of a human. She looks human. He is intruiged to find she is an artist. He likes art. Nick was trained to be a killer, but he's a lot more cultured than anyone would guess he is. "Well I'm assuming you don't mean you're an artist and a gardener, but that the landscaping you refer to is landscape art?" He pictures Kayos asking for a life size topeary of himself. He laughs a little to himself at the image. But she is correct. He's like this with everyone. People have tried to tell her that before, but she's always thought he was only guarded around her. Kayos is trying to find people who can make Nick lighten up, but it's proving to be an impossible task. "I'll show ya in."
