Time: late afternoon, heading toward evening.
Location: Interrogation room in AmKelosh.
Note: It's not a good idea to piss of Kayos, or to keep him waiting.

Master Kayos is in an interrogation room. Or that's what he's called it anyway. It's a room with steel walls, all reinforced. The room is round with smooth, dark gray walls. The stone floor is also a dark gray. There is a enchanted circle of light in the middle of the room, which shines up from the floor. Nick is laying on his back upon this circle of light. The light can grow or dim to suit Kayos' desires upon his will. Right now it is enough to light the whole room, but not to keep Nick from seeing who all is there. Kayos of course is waiting for Lark. The guards have been told to let her in and then secure the door. The guards are heavy, but it's more for show than to keep Nick there. Kayos doesn't think it'll be a problem.

Synderix A grin continued to emerge upon the crimson colored lips of Synderix.. Kayos perhaps could feel her presence brush over his form.. Though it laid within the Realm of the Umbra.. She needed to speak with Kayos, and seeked him out.. It brought her here.. Digits roamed idly across the well curved hips, the emerald colored orbs continued to follow each movement of Kayos, and what is going on..

Nick Corwin lays still and on his back. He's yet to wake up, but then that's partly due to the enchantment on the manacles. He won't wake up until someone lets him. He still only wears the gray cotton pants he was sleeping in. He won't be happy to wake up and find he's not got his weapons. But then what assassin likes to be without the tools of his trade? His long, black hair is still braided and wrapped in cloth.

Lark Sandstone ~the sound of her foot steps echo upon the stairs, she looked to the guard and didn't even pause of break her stride in her traveling to the dungeons, her eyes adjust to the darkness then once the door opened to the brightness within, her hands move behind her back as she strolled towards where Kayos stood

Master Kayos hears Lark coming, and then hears the echoing sound of the heavy steel door being shut and locked. He thinks maybe he should have woke Nick up first to hear that sound. He looks over at Lark once she in near him and indicates she is to remain where she is for now as he wills the enchantment to life from Nick, and allow him to wake. Kayos walks toward the center of the room and stops before Nick. He stands in a such a way that Lark has full view of what's going on. Kayos wants her to enjoy it. It's where most the fun is coming from.

Synderix The tilt of the cranium was the only other movement that was offered from her form as she continued to watch Kayos.. She would perhaps break his distraction as she speaks through the mental connection she has with Kayos.. << Now.. now.. Kayos, what did I tell you about torturing? Didn't you learn anything? >> The grin appeared more sadistic upon the crimson tainted lips as she continued to watch.. Kayos would never find her in the Umbra Realm.. he had no idea of it either..

Lark Sandstone ~watching Kayos, she felt her blood boil, her pulse she could feel through her very skin, a slight smile curved to her lips, yet she felt a frown fell quickly in place, she looked to where Nick was laying, her hands fold before her form, she waited to see what here was to transpire. she was enjoying herself and yet questioning why?

Nick Corwin slowly opens his eyes. The ceiling is too high for him to see, but his peripheral vision is very good and he does recognize the gray color and shape of the room. He looks to the side a little confused, just to make sure he knows where he is. He had no idea Kayos was displeased with him. . again. His bright emerald eyes then look to Kayos. He says nothing, not sure what to say. It was only a couple of weeks ago hat Kayos almost killed him out of anger. It's not fun having your skin melted off. Kayos has neat little enchantments that keep being from dying when being punished or tortured. His shoulder ache and the manacles cut into his back, where he's laying on them.

Lark Sandstone turned twisting her form to the side as she took a step closer to Kayos, her eyes bright purple nor, more so then amethyst their usually colour, her left hand rose under her mane of long autumn red locks, flicking it up and back over her right shoulder she waited, her eyes drifted across Nick

Master Kayos hears Syn in his mind and only smirks. He has been known to enjoy a good torture during his day. He can't say he's happy to be spied upon, and well not only hold it against Synderix, but Dacklyn as well. <It's not torture, it's punishment.> Kayos reaches down to grab Nick by the throat and lift him into a kneeing position. He doesn't say anything yet. He knows it'll be worse for the boy that way, not knowing what he did. It adds to any possible fear.

Lark Sandstone ~ upon seeing Kayos action towards Nick, she could not help but take a step forward his name on the tip of her tongue, but never spoken, she looked to Kayos her hand rose as if to stop him, but she drew it back, standing watching waiting

Synderix In a way she wasn't really spying.. only trying to find Kayos.. <<I am not spying upon you.. Do not hold it against Dacklyn.. I merely was trying to find you and found you here.. if you don't wish for me to stay, I will merely leave.. I needed to 'speak' to you about some matters.. I could always just go visit Erconi again.. >> Perhaps that would get a bit of jealousy within Kayos' veins.. Syn almost had all the brothers lusting after her.. Dacklyn and Kayos were the hardest.. Erconi already tried to sleep with her, as well as Cathal.. Both failed greatly..

Nick Corwin makes choking sounds as he is lifted. He can't resist. His hands are too well secured. If he's lucky this won't end with him in the hospital again. Or with Lark half dragging him down the hall. That has been the worse punishment to date, because Lark tried to 'help' him afterward. He can't remember what it was, electricity or something. Once he is on his knees he simply glances from Kayos to Lark. He still looks confused, and a little worried.

Master Kayos is very much like an undead vampire. He is to the point that you couldn't prove he wasn't, but that he can go into sunlight and doesn't feed. He doesn't need to eat at all, but enjoys it. He is undead though, and undead are immune to psionics when they wish to be. He doesn't really care that Syn is watching. He's just taking care of house business. He glances over at Lark. He's trying to study her to see if she's coming forward out of worry for Nick, or wanting to help punish Nick. He smirks remembering their conversation on the matter.

Lark Sandstone stopped herself and remained still, her eyes narrow upon Kayos hold on Nick. she swallowed hard, then looked back to Kayos, wondering why he was doing this. Was he trying to prove a point ...what? whatever it was she was indeed lost

Master Kayos drops his hand from Nick and looks back to the boy. He narrows his eyes. He can feel Synderix is now gone and prefers that. He'll have a talk with her later. He'll be nice and worked up from his talk with Nick. "You disappoint." Kayos is curious to see what Lark is going to do. She seems to be having second thoughts. The other night she was more than thrilled for this to happen.

Nick Corwin coughs a little, but tries not to. Kayos is very strong. He could have snapped Nick's head clean off just then. Nick gives him a confused and defensive look. He glances at Lark. His eyes narrow slightly as he's sure she got brownie points in some way. How is it possible that Nick disappoints and Lark doesn't?

Lark Sandstone standing now more ridged, she straightened her back looking at Nick then to the ground, she gave a slight grunt , and her expression slowly changed, a smirk now in place as she then tossed her head back, this was better this was how she was to be... looking at Nick with a sudden change to her , a smirk upon her lips now. She looked at Nick, seeing the same look as always, her form becomes more ridged, it would never change, his green eyes would see her for what he thought of her, a killer a drunkard and anything else displeasing, she took in a breath and stood taller more like the warrior that she was

Master Kayos sees the look in Nick's eyes change when he looks to Lark. Kayos doesn't like it. Lark is his adopted daughter and deserves respect. Kayos lashes out with a backhand to Nick's face. Is there more than one lesson that needs to be taught here? He knew there was, but Lark getting to tell Nick about her rank should teach that lesson.

Nick Corwin leans back avoiding the backhand and then looks to Kayos as if shocked. Not at Kayos' actions, but his own. He might have just screwed up very badly by dodging. The open mouth look of astonishment isn't one many have ever seen on Nick before. He looks worried, as well he should be.

Lark Sandstone looked at Kayos and then stepped a bit more before him, a few steps closer to Nick so to speak. Her eyes darkened as she looked at him, the look took him of her thoughts, turning to face Nick, she was wanting to know his reaction to her rank just as badly as she had been to bring him back here. she waited for Kayos to tell her she could

Master Kayos also looks a little surprised. He knows Nick was acting out of reflex, and the look on Nick's face only proves that. Kayos decides not to let Nick know he's aware of that though. He narrows his eyes as if to ask if Nick dares to defy him. He glances at Lark. She keeps getting closer, when she had been told to stay back. The only reason he doesn't get mad at her is because he told her he'd allow her to enjoy this and it seems to annoy Nick more that she's right there. "You have forsaken your duties and will have to make it up to me."

Nick Corwin closes his mouth and swallows hard. He knows he just missed some serious trouble there because of that dodge. He pushes himself forward again, coming back into a more upright position. His legs are up under him. He tries not to look at Lark at all. He remembers her in his room. That in itself is bad enough, but she was leading a team to go get him. He'd thought she was working on her own, but it's clear Kayos sent her. She is in his good favor, but Nick isn't. How did the world become so screwed up? "What must I do?"

Lark Sandstone turned to face Kayos, the look in her eye was that of the enjoyment she was getting from Nick's strifes, she waited, itching to tell Nick, her smirk faded as she swayed back and then turned her head to Nick..."May I?"

Master Kayos lifts a hand to silence Lark. It's not the angry kind of silencing, it's more like he realizes she is excited, and in a hurry. But he's currently in the middle of a slight conversation. He needs to make sure Nick is sure of what he must do first. "It's simple really. I am in danger, and you must remove that danger by killing someone for me."

Nick Corwin breaths a slight sigh of relief. Killing he is good at. He'd rather be an assassin than the Overseer. He wonders why Kayos didn't just ask him to do this thing last time they spoke. He understands Kayos however, and knows that all of this is to prove a point. Nick understands too that any wrong move or sign from him could forfeit his life.

Lark Sandstone stood silent and taller then normal, her usually warrior stance she had lost use for, though she just used it to intimidate others, she let her face return to one of less expression while she listened between the two before her. She, herself was wondering who the threat was, waiting to hear from Kayos just who it was he wished taken care of

Master Kayos smirks seeing Nick is relieved. He won't be for long. Kayos is having a tremendous amount of fun with all this. He just hasn't felt this mischievous since before the silencing disease. He's back to his old self though. He's pretty sure it's the coming war. It's got him excited. "I need you to kill Petter Summers." Kayos gives Nick a look that suggest he do this thing without further questions of any kind. It is the only way to get back into Kayos' good graces.

Lark Sandstone ~ her eyes widen as she turned to Kayos, she then showed no emotion behind them, as she turned to look to Nick for his reaction... her hands fell to her side as she took a surprising step back, yet she held firmly to her form and tried not to waver

Nick Corwin hangs his head slightly. It all becomes clear to him now. This is about loyalty. Nick argued with Kayos over a friend, and went to get her, against orders. Then he took her to a place very far away. He knows that Overseer is the duties Kayos says he has forsaken. Now he has to show Kayos he's loyal to him above all others by killing another friend. He takes a deep breath and lets it out. He was afraid he'd have to kill Petter from the start. Petter was too, they both saw this one coming.

Master Kayos lets out one of his evil laughs. it's not a loud laugh, but it is sinister. There's more to all this than just Nick proving himself. Those that really know him -like Lark and Nick- might see that in the way he is acting. Petter is a real threat. One unlike any Kayos has ever run across before. Kayos never seems to give any threat any serious thought, but he has this one.

Lark Sandstone says, Kayos....." her tone is low almost unheard, in case Kayos wished her to be silent, she looked to him in question.....

Nick Corwin looks back up, Lark's hushed call seems to have called him back from his thoughts. His green eyes are cold and his expression has gone impassive. He will do this thing, even if it puts him at risk of locking his emotions back up. He thinks he can handle it without that happening though. This will be the hardest test of his own strength of character he's ever taken.

Master Kayos is killing three birds with one stone. Nick needs to prove himself, Sol needs to be sent a message, and Petter needs to be gone. He glances at Lark, his features are dark, moody, and unreadable. He quirks an eyebrow, but his thoughts are not on Lark. He seems to look right past her. His looks focuses back on Lark sudden and his expression changes, to reflect that fun smirk again. "You may have your own fun now." Kayos turns and walks toward the door.

Lark Sandstone turned to Nick, looking at him, she then adapted the same look that Kayos had, looking at Nick then looking pass him if not seemingly through him...."so Nicholas it seems we have a little private time..."

Nick Corwin says, "Joy." His tone is an impassive as his expression. There is a sadness in his eyes that isn't normally there however. He still sits with his legs folded under him, in a kneeling position. His hands are still secured behind his back. He doesn't like being in this position alone with Lark, especially when he's no wearing more than sleep pants.

Lark Sandstone says, so where is your little friend..." she smirked and pretends to look about for angelicia. Her hands come to rest at the small of her back, her amethyst eyes narrow a bit as she spoke.

Nick Corwin smirks slightly himself. "He's in my pants, but you'll never met him." He normally wouldn't taunt of such things, or even think to make jokes of them. But he's feeling vulnerable and is trying to make up for that. It was a defensive statement, but not said in a tone that gave that away. He doesn't make eye contact with her, but looks down at her feet instead.

Lark Sandstone ` her gaze is ever watchful, se lowered her form to a crouching position, her hand moved towards his chest, a finger extends and gently she brushes her finger across his pecks, a smirk at the feel of his shin, "Now, now, Nicholas. Is that any way to speak to one that has the authority over you. You need to learn your please... or as I can see Kayos has seem to that by sending he to charge a team to bring you back here..."

Nick Corwin started to give her a confused look when she got down to his eye level. In the Kelosh empire, looking another in the eyes is a sign of a challenge, or of equals. Nick was looking down not only in shame, but hoping Lark would think she'd won and go away. He can't help but be nervous. He's too helpless. He's not used to feeling helpless. Every muscle on his body tenses and remains that way. Her touch gives him chills. "You don't outrank me." He thinks she is still believing being a princess outranks him. He never told her it didn't.

Lark Sandstone did not let his words break her thoughts, she would have lashed out at him before, before she knew what power she could hold over Nick once and for all.

Nick Corwin is bothered by her reaction. She didn't say or do anything. She didn't even argue it. She is just acting with the sureness of one that truly knows. That bothers him more than had she lashed out. He's used to the other reaction. He narrows his eyes, wondering if she knows of what she speaks. "Explain?"

Lark Sandstone says, Kayos....of course, he did not tell you for he knew that i wished the honor to do so...." she looked at him, her left hand drew to his chin, with a slight jolt she forced his face up to her gaze, her eyes darkened as she looked at him, a smirk to her full lips...."Indeed i was surprised at the ranking he gave me as everyone else was, but Kayos proudly gave it forth." she paused to savor the moment

Nick Corwin can't resist her. He just not in any position to do so. The only way to avoid her immediate attack is to fall over, but then she'd only pin him to the floor. He swallows as she forces him to lift his head. He thinks back on that dream he had where Lark was a vampire. It doesn't help. He looks a little confused, which almost masks his nervousness. "Kayos gave you . . rank?"

Lark Sandstone says, that he did indeed." she smirks and drew his face closer to her own, she was smirking more so now, that he could not fight back or kick you away, a laughter caught in her throat as she locked her amethyst gaze with his own..."Magistrate..." slipped across her lips as she looked directly at him. Her palm opened up and then rested against his chest, she smirked as she caressed his torso, her eyes remained locked upon him, wondering if he would fall away from her or just sit there and wish her dead, she chuckled at this reaction she was longing for, and yet

Nick Corwin is only made more nervous by her drawing him close. He almost forgets what the conversation is about. He could slam himself into her and knock her back, but he's got a pretty good idea that the enchanted circle he is in will react and hit him with magical light. Being a shadowdancer, magical light can hurt him, or trap him. He starts to say something, but then closes his moth and swallows upon her rank. He looks as if he'd just been slapped hard across the face. He doesn't wish her dead, though he wouldn't mind being that himself right now. He makes no move to pull away from her.

Lark Sandstone says, Nicholas, really...." she pushed her form to her feet and then looked at Him...."where did your little pal angelicia is it....?" she was trying not to make herself do this, but her anger at him just grew more and more, the long she remained in his company. She could not help but feel a bit rejected , this was he three time she tried to touch him and his reaction told her straight, she frowned at her thoughts and stood..."Kayos said it would drive you nuts, I have no idea until now just how, much. though I don't quiet understand why?" she looked down at him, her eyes soften a bit

Nick Corwin seems to start breathing again as she removes herself from him. He can't deny his other little friend seemed to like it, but then he is a guy. He knows that Lark is a mantis though. She'd only bite his head off first. "I know not. Where did you leave her?" He thinks she's playing a different game now, trying to bait him in a different way. He can win this one, he couldn't have won the last one. He's used to verbal warfare, but not being touched.

Lark Sandstone ~ looking into his eyes , she had never held it this long and this close before, her hand tensed and she wanted to draw it back, she slipped to one knee as she knelt there, here eyes locked in place as she her form, she drew him closer , lost in a thought of the anger that raged inside her.

Nick Corwin tries to look away from Lark. He frowns, not liking this at all. He can feel her hatred toward him. Or what he thinks is hate anyway. If she truly outranks him, which he believes she does, than moving against her, would be seen as moving against Kayos. He can't afford to get in trouble again right now. He swallows hard, and is holding his breath, but unaware of doing so.

Lark Sandstone lost in the thoughts she looks at him.....~such beautiful eyes~ she then staggered her words to cover up what she let slip out before she could even retract them she looked at him panic set across her face

Nick Corwin snaps his head back toward her face, which is far too close to his own for comfort. The look on his face is also close to panic. Only he misreads her to be mocking him. His breathing speeds up. He wishes to run. He feels trapped and he's not used to it at all. "Lark?" He sounds rather pleading. He even thinks of begging, though he's not sure he could go through with that one.

Lark Sandstone `without thought her eyes looked directly at him, her lips tried to cover up what she spoke the more she staggered, without hope in herself to save her from this, she throw herself towards him her lips pressing firmly against his lips, for what he would have thought of her being her siren charms and ways this time its more, its what she felt and she felt like screaming, her kiss was tender, and there was indeed a fire behind it not one that Nick would have thought to be hatred. she drew back and looked at him ..."I'm sorry..."

Nick Corwin is stunned. He has no words, for none come to him. He feels the need to lick his lips, but then wonders if that was a bad idea after doing so. He can still taste her on his lips and it's not as bad as he'd have thought. He just sits there looking shocked.

Lark Sandstone drew back and then looked at him, her form panicked as she then turned to leave the dungeon and Nick behind.
