Shellie’s life long dream has been to be a Country Music Star, & as we see it she is well on her way. From the time she was old enough to talk, she was putting on Grand Ol' Opry shows for her friends and family. She would use anything as a stage; coffee tables, front porches, chairs or tables, she didn’t care, as long as she could get someone to listen to her sing.

Shellie's favorite story that her grandma (Hope Martin - pictured with Katie Martinez & Adam) likes to tell is when she was about 3 years old. She took her to the New Mexico State Fair to see Charlie Pride in concert. When he started to sing "Kiss an Angel Good Morning" Shellie jumped out of her seat & was singing every word with Charlie as loud as she could. Some people didn’t appreciate it, but her grandma did & since then she has always been one of Shellie’s biggest fans. Shellie can't thank her enough for all of the love & generosity she has shown her in her lifetime.

Her grandfather (Arlie Welden Martin - pictured above) was just as big a fan. Shellie and the Thomas' (good friends of the family) used to sing for him. His favorite song was "How Great Thou Art". Shellie can still see him sitting in his chair tapping his foot, clapping his hands with huge tears running down his cheeks. He has since passed away & Shellie would like to dedicate this web page to him as she loved him dearly and hopes that she will be able to keep her promise to him that one day she will make the Martin name famous.

If there is one thing that Shellie is proud of in her life, that would have to be her family.

Mom, Grandpa Smith,Joshua, Aunt Karen, Cousin Matthew, Dad .jpg (20332 bytes)

Shellie's father Danny (Bud), Patricia (Pat) and her two brothers, Robert (Bub) and Joshua (Dosey Doo) all live in a small town just outside of Reno, Nevada.

Bud has been a miner since he was 18 years old and anyone who has ever worked with him will tell you he's one of the best in the business.

Shellie is proud to say that Pat is her best friend, and she thanks God everyday for blessing her with such loving parents who are both 100% supportive of her in everything she has chosen to do in her life.

Shellie & her brothers also have a very special bond. Robert (left) & Joshua (right, with Laura) have both followed in their Dad’s footsteps & work in the mines. When Shellie goes home for a visit, they don’t have to go out for fun as both brothers have a great sense of humor & keep her laughing from the time she arrives until the time she leaves … (Shellie doesn't think that either one of them realizes what a special place they hold in her heart).

Shellie also has a niece & 2 nephews that are very special to her. Jazmen & Dru, who belongs to Joshua & Laura Martinez, and Adam who belongs to Robert and Audrey Martinez. As you can see in her photo, it looks like Jazmen may be following in Shellie’s footsteps.

Shellie would like to add loving thoughts to Lou & Lacy Ferguson for believing in her & helping to support her career.

As well as a loving thank you to Anita Mullins for being such a great friend and taking care of Crash when they have to go "on the road" (and especially for taking care of her when they're not on the road). Thank you to Denny Nelson who has been a great help to Shellie's career, "Your the best!" & to Gordy Collins of Nashville for letting them use some of his photo’s. Thanks Gordy!

Gresh - what can I say – He is a fantastic guy (of course he's my nephew). He told us all from the first time he heard Shellie sing that "she was a star!" Shellie says that Gresh's unwavering belief in her talent overwhelms her sometimes. He is a one of a kind and she will be eternally grateful to him for helping to give her the strength & confidence that she needed to pursue her dreams. It's not very often that you can find a person to share your life with that believes in your dream enough to sacrifice his whole life and make it become his dream as well. Gresh is everything to Shellie and she knows it wouldn't be worth it if he wasn't standing right beside her.

Gresh's family has become a very special part of Shellie's life as well. Gresh has 3 sons – Joey, Vince, & Dylan (pictured above) who Shellie loves as if they were her own. They won her heart the first time she met them. She would like to send her love & thanks to all of Gresh’s family for their continued encouragement.

A special thanks to Randy & Judy Wyland  (Judy's grandson, Brett, is pictured with Shellie) for building this Web Site, & to Johnny for giving them the time to do it.

And a final thanks to Dave (pictured below with Shellie) & Jo Frizzell for sharing your wisdom and talents with Shellie.
