Rosa Alvarez's Intro

Rosa looked around the saloon and smiled. `Jake finally did it' she thought. She would do just about anything for Jake Lawless `heck any woman would' she chuckled to herself. Jake meant more to her then that though. He had saved her life a few years ago and had been there for her every time she needed him ever since.

The petite Hispanic woman was strikingly beautiful and could have just about any man she wanted. But at 21 she was still a virgin, thanks to Jake Lawless that is. They had been on a riverboat along the Mississippi river. Rosa had been hired for the entertainment. She had always made her job descriptions clear. She was an `entertainer' not a prostitute.  Well the riverboat captain had other ideas. Jake had been aboard that night and had won big. The captain had lost a substantial amount of money to him. Being in a sour mood, the captain made his way to Rosa's cabin after her set and had forced himself upon her. Jake had heard her screams and came to her rescue. The two had fled the riverboat quickly having to dive into the river.

Rosa had got quite ill, and Jake took it upon himself to nurse her back to health. He has been looking after her ever since. Although not always in the same place the two kept in touch, and as soon as she heard he opened his very own saloon, she packed her bags and headed to 3 Crossings. Rosa adored Jake, he was like a big brother to her. And she was close to Lucky as well.

She would do everything she could to ensure `The Lucky Ace' was a success.  And from the looks of things it already was. Even at the noon hour the place had patrons and she smiled to them as she started in on her next set. 

Jake looked over as Rosa sang one of his favorites `Red River Valley.'  She had the face and voice of an angel.  He hoped that someday a handsome man would come and sweep her off her feet.
