Summary: Noah's father was a free black man, and his mother was a slave. His father worked to buy her freedom, and then started doing the same for slaves across Alabama. The family was forced to flee to Missouri, but the trip was too hard on Noah's mother, and she died giving birth to him. From that point on, Noah was raised by his father and another freed slave named Sally. When Noah was eight, his father was killed by slavers, and Noah and Sally barely escaped with their lives...and freedom. When he was fifteen, Noah left Sally's care and has been making his own way since then, earning money to buy slaves and free them. He'll never really be ready to put down roots completely, but he's hoping to find the family he never had at the Three Crossings Station.
