Summary: Louise grew up with her mother, brother and sister. Her mother Mary had taken the children away from her father after he had become abusive, and started to bring outlaws into their home. They moved to a small town in Missouri until Mary died when Louise was 12 and they all went to an orphanage. Louise left her siblings and ran away from the orphanage when she was 14. She then drifted through different towns, taking small cleaning and sewing jobs in return for accommodations. She finally got a permanent job with a man named Wicks, working in the laundry for a brothel. That was until Wicks started taking an interest in her.
