As Ben worked with his hands, his eyes and mind were somewhere else. He was watching the kids play on the playground at recess. Well, he wasn't exactly watching the kids, he was watching Everly watch the kids. He loved the way she handled the kids and thought she would make him a good wife. The problem was that he couldn't get her to let him even court her. She wasn't interested in him like that. Or was she playing hard to get? Either way he couldn't let it get in the way of Alton, Everly's older brother, and his friendship. Alton was his best friend. He wouldn't do anything to endanger that. So for now, he would just have to admire Everly from afar. Maybe he could come up with a way to make her his one-day.
