APRIL 7, 1860

Tyson slid the lock into place and sighed heavily as he leaned against the door. The night had been particularly rowdy, with the main casualties consisting of glasses and furniture.

He took in the view from the bar, tables lay on their sides and glass littered the floor.

Tyson kicked himself when he thought of the way he had sent everyone home early, thinking it would be a quiet night and that he could handle things by himself. He had been extremely thankful to see Teaspoon arrive, and he smiled at how quickly the man had gotten things under control again. Tyson sat down at the bar and poured himself a drink to help him sleep.

"Hey sleepy, what are you doing down here? Richard grinned at his friend as he gave him a nudge on the shoulder. Tyson groaned and mumbled something that Richard found unintelligible. Richard laughed and gave him another push. "Come on, wakey wakey".

Tysons reply was never heard as he fell off the stool and crashed to the floor.

Richard tried to hide his laughter, but soon found it impossible as Tyson proceeded to use Richards shoes as a pillow. "Hey, you must be really tired, and its no wonder looking at the state of this place, what the hell happened?"

"I dont want to talk about it, and your feet dont smell so nice," Tyson grumbled.

Richard grinned, "Well, they smell just fine from up here. I think youre meant to walk on them, not to put your head on them"

"You going to help me up or what?" Tyson asked as he held up a hand.

Richard pulled him to his feet and watched as he swayed on the spot, "If I didnt know any better, your customers werent the only ones who did some drinking last night"

Tyson shrugged sleepily, "I had one glass to help me sleep, thats all."

"Well, it looks to me like you had a little more than that," Richard pointed at the empty bottle sitting on the bar top.

Tysons eyes fell to the floor, "Oh!" Tyson moaned and then continued, "That was nearly full when I poured my glass. Im sure I just had the one."

"Come on Tyson, the coffee, and the sparkling conversation is on me," Richard said as he led him down the hall to the kitchen.
