THE BAKE/CRAFT/RAFFLE SALE! FEBRUARY 14, 1860 |
| Teaspoon
had the buggy waiting right outside the jailhouse. He kept glancing outside through the
window watching for Dev. It was a quarter to 5 and soon she would be here. Its been
a few years since Teaspoon has had a date. He wasnt quite sure how much he liked
Dev. Shes a nice lady, but Teaspoon was kind of set in his ways. He would need a
lady that would take him the way he is. Dev arrived promptly at 5 and Teaspoon helped her into the buggy. After arriving at the Grand Square Teaspoon and Dev walked around greeting and talking with people. Teaspoon introduced Dev to Caller Bob. Caller Bob nudged Teaspoon and told him that he had one of the prettiest ladies at the dance. Then Caller Bob moved on to speak with some others. Teaspoon and Dev broused the tables, and Cody coaxed Teaspoon into buying his lovely date a paper flower and a wooden horse that she had her eye on. Next Teaspoon bought Dev and him a supper plate and sat down at a table with Ted and Rose, and Teaspoon made the introductions. Dev was having a great time. It had been a long time since she had been escorted anywhere, and she was happy to be here with such a charming man as Teaspoon. After supper Teaspoon and Dev looked at the bake sale tables that Lee was running, and Teaspoon bought a few cookies. Teaspoon had an orney old sweet tooth and as he handed Dev a cookie, he said, "A sweet for a sweet!" "Oh Teaspoon, you sure know how to charm a lady." Dev smiled as she bit into her cookie. They walked on over to the corral and found them a table before the dance starts. |
