MARCH 13, 1861

Caller Bob was surprised to find out who Tally really was. He was sworn to secrecy though. He promised he wouldn't tell anybody about who Tally really was. It didn't really matter because soon everybody in town would know. They would all find out at the ceremony.

Caller Bob rode into town and over to the bordello. The only time he ever visited the place was when he needed to talk to Tally about something. He walked up to the bar and ordered a drink. At least the place wasn't busy at this time of day.

"What brings ya here?" Tally asked as he sat Caller Bob's beer in front of him.

"I was thinking of having the rodeo out at my place, but then I got to thinking about that big arena you made on your place." Before Caller Bob could ask him to volunteer his place for the rodeo, Tally automatically volunteered.

"I'd be glad to have the rodeo at my place." Tally smirked.

"I'm curious. Why did you build that arena anyway?" Caller Bob asked.

"I'm going to make it a show arena." Seeing Caller Bob's perplexed face Tally continued, "I'm going to breed and show horses. I'm going to use the arena to show the horses to prospective buyers."

"That sounds like a great idea. It's also good for having a rodeo." Caller Bob grinned at Tally.

"What sort of events is this rodeo suppose to have?" Tally asked.

"Well, we've decided on calf ropin', bronco riding, and bull riding. Are you going to enter any?" Caller Bob finished his beer.

"If I enter any it will be the calf ropin'. I don't cotton to breakin' any of my bones." Tally brought Caller Bob another beer.

Caller Bob chuckled. "I don't cotton to that either. That's why I'm just going to watch. I thought I would help with the animals though like leading the bulls and broncs into the arena."

"We need some chutes." Tally stated.

"Some what?" Caller Bob didn't know what Tally was talking about.

"Some chutes, they're used to keep the broncos and bulls in until the riders get seated. Then the gate opens and out they come." Tally answered.

"It sounds like a good idea." Caller Bob said. "I could help you with that if you like?"

"Thanks, you think we could get a few other fellas to help, so they'll get done in time." Tally wasn't so sure that him and Caller Bob could get the chutes done in time for the rodeo.

"I think that can be arranged. I'll see who I can get to help us." Caller Bob finished his second beer. "Well, I better get going. I'm heading over to the PEG to check out the article Jacy has wrote for the rodeo."

"Hey, if you don't mind, I'll come along. It's time for my break." Tally swiped off the bar to wipe the wet spot from the beer mug Caller Bob had used.

"No, I don't mind. Come on." Caller Bob waited for him.

Tally came out from behind the bar, informed Dean that he was taking a break and walked over to the PEG with Caller Bob.
