THE BAKE/CRAFT/RAFFLE SALE!

FEBRUARY 14, 1860

After seeing his children off, Steven climbed onto the buckboard and headed into town. Him and Prudence had decided that they would meet in town and then go to the dance from there. With Steven helping her Prudence stepped down from her wagon and said, "Good evening, Mr. Johnson."

"Please call me Steven. You look lovely tonight, Mrs. Jeldin." He said.

Prudence smiled and said, "Thank you. But please call me Prudence." Steven nodded

Offering her his arm he helped her into the buckboard. After climbing up himself, they headed towards Caller Bob's. They rode in silence. They arrived at the dance just after Caly and Buck did. Helping her down and offering his arm, they walked around looking at the items for sale. Steven bought her a piece of cake and a cup of cider.

As they stood looking at the items for the raffle, Prudence mentioned, "That sure is a beautiful dress." Hearing this, Steven bought 3 raffle tickets. Walking over to her, he said, "Here you go Prudence, Maybe you will win that dress. It sure would look pretty on you."

Taking them she replied, "Well, maybe I will. Maybe, I will even win that saddle over there."

Steven nodded and smiled, "Maybe. Why don't we go find a place to sit for awhile?
