JUNE 17, 1860
Steven was walking out of the barn when he saw Buck and Caly come riding into the yard. He smiled as he watched then together. He was so thankful to the young man with his daughter. He might have lost her after the Simon Moore incident if it hadn't been for their friendship. The more time she spent with him the more she was like her old self again.
As Steven stood there watching Buck help Caly from her horse, he was brought out of his thoughts by the sound of another horse coming into the yard. Looking up Steven saw Charlie. Walking over to meet him, Steven noticed he seemed to be thinking about something.
Charlie stopped by the corral and tied Jack to the fence. Turning to Steven Charlie said, "Hello, Steven. I came by to set up the next order of beef for the restaurant."
Steven nodded, "Lets go into my study. Where its quiet." He led Charlie inside to his study. He motioned for him to sit. As Charlie sat, Steven asked, "The same amount as last time?"
"No, actually I have to double the order this time."
"Business doing that good?"
"Business has doubled. I had to place an ad for another cook in the paper today."
Taking down his order Steven said, "Well it seems our little town is growing fast. I am glad business is going well for you."
"Yes it is. Which is good for both of us." Steven nodded and then he followed Charlie back to his horse. "Things seem to be getting back to normal around here for you. Your Daughter is very lucky and pretty. Shes strong willed. Thats what helped her get through this." Charlie commented as he watched Caly and Buck talking by the corral.
Watching his daughter Steven replied, "Yes she is and that young man helped a lot, too."
Smiling Charlie turned to Steven and said, "Thats good. I better get back to the restaurant. I hope to see you in the restaurant soon."
"We'll be in sometime soon. Thanks for the order Charlie."
Charlie nodded and mounted Jack. He waved as he headed towards town.
