Steven looked at the afghan Caly had just finished for Javier and Lilly. He started to think about dating again. But felt he was being unfaithful to his late wife. Walking over to his desk he picked up the picture of his wife. He was lonely but what about his children.

Sitting at the desk he couldn't help but think that Susan would want him to be happy. He had devoted so much time to his children since her death. Now Caly was 19 and had a beau. Michael was 14 and had a girl.

He had been spending a lot of time at the bordello. All the girls were nice if you were paying. But Anjannette was extra sweet. He liked spending time with her. Sitting up straight in his chair as a smile crept across his face, he thought I'll ask Anjannette to the rodeo. If things go well, maybe the wedding, too.

Getting up Steven headed out to the barn. He knew Caly was either with Buck or Meg. Michael was with either Melissa or Jesse, so they wouldn't be home for a while. After saddling King he headed into town.

Tying King to the post Steven walked into the bordello. He stood just inside the door looking for Anjannette. He spotted her over by the bar alone.

Taking a deep breath Steven walked over. "Hello Anjannette, can I buy you a drink and talk to you a minute?"

Anjanette smiled, "Hello Steven, sure I'd like that. You go find us a table and I'll get the drinks."

Steven nodded and went to find a table near the back.

Anjanette brought the drinks over to the table and sat next to him.

After taking a sip of his beer Steven said, "Anjanette would you like to go to the rodeo with me?"

"I don't know Steven. What about your children and your reputation in town? I don't want you disgraced because of what I do."

Steven smiled taking her hand. "I don't really care what the town gossip says. As for my children Michael will adjust, and Caly she's so involved with the wedding and spending time with Buck, I know she won't mind. It will be fun and it's for a good cause."

Anjanette thought about it for a minute. "You're right, I'll go with you. It's my town, too. It should be lots of fun." Steven pulled her into his lap and they spent the next couple of hours together.
