"Tell Daddy I said that I love him and tell him good night for me please." Rose�s daddy had been out in the barn most of the night checking on all the horses making sure that they were warm enough.

"I will tell him for you even though he already knows you love him."

Rose went to bed and fell asleep right when she hit the pillow. Jasmine put away the dress she had been working on and went to check and see if Rose was asleep. Jasmine then went back to her room and got out the dress she was making for Rose. She was just about through with the dress when Gavin walked into the bedroom. "Hey how are the horses?"

"They are fine. I had to make sure they were warm enough and they were probably warmer then I was out there." Gavin said this with a smile on his face as he watched his wife finish Rose�s dress. "She is going to love it, Jasmine. It is so beautiful."

"Thanks, I hope she does." With that said Jasmine finished Rose�s dress and her and Gavin went to bed.

Rose woke up as daylight filled her room. She got out of bed and as she did she noticed something hanging on her door. She ran to it and saw that it was her dress. There was a note pinned to it and it read:

Rose couldn't help but shed tears of joy from the note and the dress. She couldn't believe how beautiful the dress was. She would be the only one in this type of dress because it was a one of a kind made by her mom.

The dress was a dark green satin material with a black see through silk material on top of all the green material. There were sequins on the bodice of the dress, but not too many. The dress was real long it just about touched the ground. It was so wonderful. It truly wasn't like any other. It was different from the traditional dresses, instead if it being puffy it just went straight down, the sleeves were short and fell to the shoulders, and the neck line wasn't high but it wasn't to low.

She then notice some black shoes to go with it and started smiling. She hung her dress back up after inspecting every little detail her mom put on it and ran downstairs to thank her parents. Jasmine, Gavin and Rose gave each other hugs in one big group hug. She thanked her parents for every thing and then they sat and ate breakfast together.

"Well I need to go check on the horses and make sure every thing is ok with the land. I will be home in time to get ready for the dance and to see Rose before she leaves."

"Dad wait can I help you?"

"You know if it was any other day I wouldn't mind, but I think you should stay here and help your mom get ready and so you will not get dirty."

"Ok dad you�re right, be careful and I will see you later."

Gavin kissed Rose on the cheek and then kissed his wife and walked out to check the horses.

It was now later in the evening and Rose had just gotten out of the lilac bath her mom drew up for her. She went to her room and put on her dress, stockings and shoes. She looked in the mirror in her room and couldn't believe that that was her in the refection. Just then her mom knocked on the door and asked if she could come in.

"Oh Rose you are so beautiful." Jasmine stated.

"Thanks mom."

"Ok now we need to do something about your hair and you should be through." Jasmine brushed and played with Roses hair until it was perfect. Rose looked in the mirror, and she could hardly notice herself. Her hair was put into a lose bun but had ringlets all around her face. Her mom had taken a piece of material that was left over from making Rose�s dress and made into a ribbon. With the ribbon she wove it through Roses hair. "Now lets see there is something else missing."

"What could possibly be missing, mom?"

"I know hang on let me go get them."

While Rose waited for her mom she started to think about Jesse and how she would of loved for him to be picking her up and taking her to the dance. Then she started to feel bad because Ted was her friend and she didn't want to hurt his feelings. Jasmine came back holding a box and little tube, and she put a little light lipstick on Rose.

"Ok Rose, I was about your age when my mom gave these to me when I was going to a dance that I was being escorted to. I would like you to have them and in the future you can pass them on to your daughter."

Rose opened the velvet box and inside was a beautiful silver necklace with a tiny diamond at the end of it, and a pair or silver tear drop earrings. She didn't know what to say to her mom. She just looked at herself in the mirror as her mom took the necklace and earrings and put them on her. She stared for what seemed like hours as her mom fastened the necklace. "Rose you look like something out of a story book."

"Thanks mom." Rose stayed in her room and waited while Ted arrived.

Jasmine left her daughter alone and went to her own room to get ready. She also made a dress for herself for the dance and was putting it on. Gavin came home and had just finished shaving and gotten out of the shower, when Jasmine told him not to go into the bedroom and to not to disturb
Rose. She informed him that his suit was in the living room and that he was to wait for her and Rose to come down when they were ready.

Gavin put his suit on and waited for his family to come down. It was a black suit with a white shirt and black tie. His shoes were also black and he had just polished them yesterday for this special occasion. He was a very handsome man that looked younger than his age.

Jasmine left her room and went to Rose�s room to get her to come downstairs with her.
"Mom you are so beautiful."

"Why thank you sweety."

Rose looked up to her mom. Her mom was so young and beautiful. She hoped to
be just like her when she was older.

"Your father has no idea what my dress is like so I hope to surprise him."

"Oh, I am sure you will mom."

"Ok Gavin, Rose and I are coming down now."

Gavin waited at the end of the stairs and watched as his daughter walked down the steps. He couldn't believe that this was his little girl. He took her hand and kissed it and then led her over to the couch. He then went to the stairs again and waited for his wife.

Jasmine started down the stairs and then he saw her, his eyes widened as he saw how beautiful she was. As she came to the last step he took her hand as well and kissed it. Then he led her to the couch. Her dress was spectacular. It was a long straight white dress and it had sleeves that fell to her shoulders. Her neckline was a little lower than Rose�s. She had little red roses on the bodice and on the bottom of the dress. Her hair was done like Rose�s except some of her hair was left down and she had a little bun. "You look incredible, honey."

"Thank you. You look very handsome."
