PRIMPING

FEBRUARY 7, 1860

As she was going through her clothes she decided that since she didn't have a date for the dance she would help out with refreshments. She came upon her party dress. She hadn't worn that dress since before she came to Dreamville.

Opening the window Rachel looked for one of the riders. Then she spotted Kid on the bunkhouse porch. She yelled, "Kid can you hitch up the buckboard for me?"

Kid looked up and said, "Sure thing Rachel." Then went and hitched it up and brought it out to the front of the house for her.

After checking her hair she grabbed the dress and headed outside. Meeting Kid at her buckboard she said, "Thank you, Kid. I'll be back in time to fix supper."

Kid nodded and said, "Is anything wrong, Rachel?" Rachel smiled and said, "Everything is fine. I just need to go to the dressmakers shop is all. Please let the other know for me." Kid nodded and helped her into the buckboard and she drove off towards town.

Pulling up in front of the dressmakers shop. She climbed down and tied the horse to the hitching post and walked into the shop. The bell rang as she entered alerting Jasmine to her presence in the shop. Rachel looked around the shop till she heard Jasmine enter the room. Jasmine entered and saw that it was Rachel that was in the shop. She smiled and said, "Hello Rachel. What can I do for you today?"

Turning Rachel said, "Hello Jasmine, I was wondering if you would alter this dress for me. I haven't worn it for some time." She handed her dress to Jasmine.

Jasmine took the dress and held it out to see it. After looking at it Jasmine said, "Sure I can. I think I still have your measurements from the last dress I made for you. I should have it done in an hour."

Rachel smiled and said, "Thank you Jasmine. I'll be back then." She waved as she left the shop. After she finished her errands she returned to the shop.

Upon entering the shop she said, "Hello Jasmine."

Jasmine looked up from her sewing "Hello Rachel, here is your dress. It is so pretty. I can't wait to see it on you at the dance." She said as she handed her the dress.

Rachel smiled and said, "Thank you, Jasmine. It was a gift from a friend. How much do I owe you for it?"

Jasmine smiled and said, "It's $2.00."

Rachel handed her the money. "I better get back. I'll see you and Gavin at the dance."

Jasmine smiled and nodded, "Yes, see you there. Bye."

Rachel waved, "Bye Jasmine." She climbed into the buckboard and headed back to the station.
