| At 29, Rachel Dunne is a sultry beauty that unconsciously turns men�s
heads wherever she goes. She, however, has become oblivious to the attentions.
Widowed six months before she came to town, she keeps to herself a lot only socialising with people that she knows. She lost her husband, Henry Dunne, five months ago in a shooting accident that also claimed the life of their unborn baby. Disillusioned with life and alone, she drifted from town to town unsure of how she wanted to spend the rest of her life, knowing only that she could never love another man as she had loved her Henry. She had travelled to Dreamville with a family that was hoping to build a life further west, planning to travel with them until they had reached their final destination. However, when she reached Dreamville and saw the sign in the window of the general store asking for a housekeeper/cook for the Pony Express Station she knew she had found at least a temporary home. She had taken the sign from the window and marched directly to the sheriff�s office where she met Teaspoon Hunter, who quickly became her new boss. The boys at the station house weren�t too hard to impress, in fact at first she realised that at least some of them were infatuated with her for entirely the wrong reason. But it didn�t take long for her to set them straight and settle in. Sometimes she felt almost motherly toward the boys but she preferred to feel like an elder sister to them, after all she wasn�t that much older then them really! |
