APRIL 3, 1860

Walking down the boardwalk Rachel bumped into Charlie. Looking up she said, "Oh excuse me. I didn't see you there. Mr. Montgomery."

"Oh please call me Charlie. I should pay more attention to where I am going." Charlie smiled as he picked up his packages.

Kneeling to help him Rachel said, "Only if you call me Rachel. I shouldkeep my mind on what I am doing. You been in town long?"

"Well about six weeks. I bought the Silver Spoon. It seems like a nice little town." Charlie said.

"Yes it is. A very nice town and very friendly." Rachel replied.

"I noticed that, but right now no one seems to be happy. Why is that?" Charlie asked.

Looking down Rachel said, "Well a few weeks ago a young lady was attacked. She is well liked by everyone. She was outgoing and friendly. Shes pretty and such a free spirit. Until some creep decided to use her as a punching bag. But her and Dreamville will be fine after time. It will be the happy little town it was before."

"Oh sorry to hear that. Did you know her personally?"

Rachel nodded, "Yes I do. She spends a lot of time out at the station with the riders. They are all very close."

"I hope they got the guy that did it."

"Yes, they did catch him. He was shot and killed after attacking one of the riders that was bringing him in. So what brings you to Dreamville to live?"

"Well, my father and I wanted to open a seafood restaurant. But he never lived to see his dream come true. I was on my way further west when I stopped here and saw how friendly and happy everyone was. Then I saw the For Sale sign on the restaurant and just had to buy it. I think I made the right choice."

Rachel smiled saying, "I think so. I love it here." They talked as they walked down the boardwalk.

"Do you have a husband I should be worried about? I don't like to come between married couples. Although I have been called a playboy before."

Looking down Rachel said, "No, I'm not married. I lost Henry about nine months ago." Looking up she smiled and continued, "I am not ready for a committed relationship yet anyway."

Smiling he said, "Oh don't worry, I am not looking for one either. I am happy playing the fields so to speak. Oh maybe someday I'll settle down but not right now." Charlie said.

Rachel laughed saying, "I bet you have fun, too." Charlie nodded. Then she continued, "Thought so. Well, I better head back to the station. Feel free to stop by the station anytime. It was nice to meet you."

Charlie nodded and said, "I will. Thank you for the lovely talk. Maybe I'll stop by and see you again sometime." Rachel nodded and left.
