MARCH 6, 1860
Prudence was taking a stroll down the street when a handsome stranger stopped her. "Excuse, Miss, but I was wondering if you could help me?"
"Uh, sure. What is it that you need, sir?"
"Oh, forgive me, I should have introduced myself. My name is Charlie Montgomery. I just bought the Silver Spoon. I was wondering if you could tell me who the best seamstress or tailor is in this town? I need a new suit."
"Well, Mr. Montgomery, that would be Mrs. MacGregor, the dressmaker. She does excellent work and for a fair price, too."
"Thank you Miss . . ."
"Jeldin, Prudence Jeldin."
"Thank you, Miss Jeldin."
"You're welcome, Mr. Montgomery."
Charlie went to the dressmaker's shop. When he walked in Mrs. MacGregor immediately noticed the stranger in her shop. "Is there something I can help you with?"
"Yes, there is. My name is Charlie Montgomery and I'm looking for a Mrs. MacGregor. I heard she was the best seamstress in town, and I need a new suit made."
Jasmine blushed at the comment that an unknown person had sent her. "Well, Mr. Montgomery, I don't know about being the best seamstress in town, but I do have a few suits right over here, that are already made."
Charlie looked at the suits and didn't find anything that he really liked. "Would it be possible for you to make a one of a kind suit for me? Something that nobody else has. I will be willing to pay extra for it," he smiled.
After Jasmine and Charlie talked about what the suit would look like, she got his measurements, and he paid her $7 for the suit that he was having made.
Charlie then went to the bank to open up an account.
