INTRODUCING JACKIE! |
|
| Jackie was desperate, but
she had a plan. All she knew for certain was that she was NOT going to marry that man. If
she had to leave Philadelphia, her friends and family, then that's the way it would be.
She had somewhere to go, though she hated to make that long trip again. She had barely been two months from a trip out west to visit her favorite uncle, Uncle Danny. He lived in a fairly new town called Dreamville. She'd had a lovely visit with him, and the people were so nice there. Besides she told herself, Uncle Danny needed someone to take care of him, now that Aunt Sally was gone. Jackie smiled brilliantly as she handed her bag to the shy young man who put it on the stage. He blushed slightly as he took her bag. Then he helped her onto the stage. She sat down and sighed with a slight smile. She hoped the saloon owner in Dreamville would keep his promise. She'd been very friendly to him on her visit, and had insinuated that she might move to Dreamville herself. The saloon owner had promised to give her a waitress job if she ever found her way back to town for good. That was a relief. She needed some way to get money. Jackie knew the trouble that was brewing at home with her father. She spent a
month trying to convince her father to change his mind about this marriage, but he
wouldn't listen. This was what he thought was best for her. Jackie had never had a problem
getting her way, especially with her father. Being told no was something new to her, and
so was being told what she would and would not do, and she didn't like it. After leaving
like this, she knew her trust fund would be frozen. |

INTRODUCING DANIEL! |
|
| Daniel looked
around him at all his things. Well, it was time to move on, he thought. That wasn't
unusual, he was used to moving on with the kind of life he'd led. He'd been doing that as
long as he could remember. He missed his wife. Sally was the only person who'd made his
life whole. She was his anchor. Now after all these years, he was free to drift once
again. He knew who he wanted to visit, Teaspoon
Hunter. Danny hadn't seen him in quite a while. But, he'd heard that Teaspoon was in the
middle of working with a group of people who were about to start up a town. Maybe he could
help out. It certainly would be good to get away from all these memories. Danny packed up
his stuff and headed out. Teaspoon squinted in disbelief at the man he saw walking
his way. The man was not large; but had a familiar, commanding presence. He had a calm
demeanor, and a determined stride that Teaspoon definitely recognized. They had some lunch at the hotel and reminisced about the good old days. Days later Teaspoon helped Danny find a great spot for his new home, this home. Teaspoon, along with some of his riders, had even gave him a hand in building his home. Teaspoon was what you call a real true friend. |

| If you find this note here at our farm, then we are not here. Unfortunately, after staying with my uncle for a few weeks I received a telegram, and it informed me that my mother is ill. So I left and went back East to help my mother, and my uncle has went with me. Sheriff Teaspoon will look after our farm while we are away. | |
