JUNE 23, 1861
Noah sat in Ivy's room as she packed. He
hated to see her go, but he understood why, too. "I'm going to miss you. I was
looking forward to going to the Fourth of July dance with you."
"I was too. But I need to fix things
with my sister." Ivy said as she closed her bag. "I'm going to miss you. I will
write. I promise."
Noah smiled as he stood and picked up her
bag. "Good, may I walk you out?"
Ivy nodded. Taking his arm, she allowed him
to lead her out of the boarding house and over to the livery.
Watching her mount up, he waved with sadness
as she rode off. He decided to go by himself a new hat, so he headed for the store.
Upon entering the store, he smiled as Lilly
walked by him on her way back to work.
"Afternoon Ma'am." He grinned when
she mentioned Caly being in town. He knew that he could help his friend get his girl back
even if he couldn't have his.
Waiting till Lilly left, he nodded to Javier
before turning and leaving the store. He quickly mounted Trouble and headed back to the
station. He knew this news would make Buck very happy and hopefully he could go see her.
