FEBRUARY 9, 1860

After school Michael went to the bank. Entering the bank he saw Walter at the window. Walking to the window he said, "Hello Mr. Simmons, I would like to take $25 from my account please."

Walter nodded and handed him the money and said, "You have a date for the dance, I take it.

Michael nodded saying, "Yes, I do. Thanks for the money. Good-bye." He waved as he left the bank.

Then Michael headed over to the barbershop. As he entered he was greet by Mr. Sanders. Luke smiled and said, "Hello Michael, what can I do for you today?"

Michael smiled and said, "I need a hair cut for the dance." Luke nodded and led him to the chair. Michael sat there and listened to Luke talk about his homeland.

Then Luke said, "All done that will be .25 please."

Michael looked in the mirror and said, "That looks good. Thanks." Michael paid him and then left.

Then he headed over to the dressmakers shop. Upon entering he saw Rose.

Rose looked up and said, "Hi Michael . What can we do for you today?"

Michael looked down saying, "Well, I need to buy a suit for the dance." Rose smiled and said, "Their over here. Come look and see if there is anything you like." Michael nodded and went to look through the suits.

He finely came across a nice black one. He turned to Rose and said, "How much is it Rose?"

Rose said, "That will be $6.00"

Michael handed her the money and left and said, "Good bye, Rose," and he headed home.
