Michael rode into the station. He needed to talk with someone. He saw Cody coming from the barn. He dismounted and tied Bear to the corral and headed for Cody. "Cody, can I talk to you about my sister?"
Cody smiled putting his arm across Michaels shoulder, "Sure Michael, whats wrong? Is Caly okay?"
"Oh shes okay. Shes out with Charlie again. I don't trust him, Cody. I've heard how he is kind of a playboy. I don't want her hurt anymore then she has already been."
Cody sighed, "Michael did Caly leave with Charlie?"
"No Noah and Ivy were with them."
"Good. "Cody nodded and sat on the porch rail. "Michael, I know you are having a hard time dealing with her seeing Buck and Charlie. Shes a pretty girl. Shes going to have fellas calling on her. But that doesn't mean she wont be there for you. "
Michael sat down by Cody. "I know, but I feel like I'm loosing her. She's been my mom, my best friend and sister all in one since I was five."
She can still be all those for you. But shes looking to the future. One day down the road she will want a family of her own. But you will always hold a special place in her heart." Cody was worried about the time Caly was spending with Charlie. He hoped Charlie wouldn't try anything. He didn't want his friend hurt. He didn't voice this to Michael though. He wasn't going to worry the boy more.
Michael thought about what Cody had said and then he smiled. "Youre right. Shes always there for me and still does things with me. Thanks Cody."
Cody smiled, "You're welcome, Michael. Glad I could help and what I said about her wanting a family, that is a long time away, okay. "
"I'll remember that. You've been a big help." Michael said as he stood and headed for his horse.
Cody smiled shaking his head as he watched Michael ride off. "Caly is a lucky girl to have a brother that cares so much about her." Cody thought as he headed into the bunkhouse.
