SEPTEMEBER 18, 1861

Meg sat on the porch of her father’s home rocking Grant when she spotted a couple of riders coming close. She smiled when she saw it was Caly and Buck. She stood as they came to a stop in front of the porch. "Hi, sorry I haven't been out to see you all. What with getting the twins back and DJ still missing, I haven’t felt like going any where."

Caly smiled as she climbed off Star. "That's okay. I'm just glad you got them back. I wish there was more I could do to help find DJ for your folks." She stepped up onto the porch.

Meg could see something had happened. "You two look like you couldn't be happier. What is it?"

Buck chuckled as he stepped up behind Caly and wrapped his arms around her. "Her father said we could get married."

Although Meg was stunned a smile broke out on her face. "Steven gave his permission for you two to marry?" She couldn’t believe what she was hearing. Steven had been so set against them being together.

Caly nodded. "Well, actually he's making us get married. We weren't doing anything except sitting off alone when he found us and said we will get married. But anyway, we want you and Luke to be part of our wedding."

Meg nodded. "Yes, of course we will be happy to. When’s the big day?"

"October twenty-first, I know it isn't a lot of time to get things together, but I wanted to get married on my parents anniversary since mama can't be with us to celebrate it."

Meg nodded. She knew that feeling. "Great. You need any help just let me know."

Caly smiled. "Thanks Meg." She hugged her friend. "I wanted to tell Lilly and Javier, too, so I'll stop back by about the dresses."

Meg nodded. "All right." She was truly happy for her friends. She watched her friends mount up and ride off towards the Cromwell place.
