MARCH 30, 1860

Lou walked out of the barn and noticed Lee sitting on the bunkhouse's porch. She seemed upset or maybe the right word would be scared, Lou wasn't sure.

"Hey Lee," Lou said as she was getting close to Lee, "Are you ok?"

Lee looked at Lou and then turned her eyes to the horizon again, "It's fine Lou. I'm fine"

Lou sat down next to Lee and touching her shoulder she said, "Come on Lee, I have seen that you aren't sleeping very well. Are you sure you don't want to talk about it?"

"There is nothing to talk about." Lee replied. She wasn't sure if she should talk to Lou about the nightmares that she had been having.

"I'm your friend Lee, you know you can count on me but I'm not pushing you, so you can tell me when you feel you are ready," Lou said and stood up.

"Lou, wait?" Lee exclaimed. Lou turned back to Lee, "Lets take a walk"

Lou and Lee wandered around the Station while Lee was telling Lou about what she had passed through when she was on a ride with Jimmy a few months before.

Lou felt bad for Lee. She had finally understood why Lee had come back different from that ride and also why she had been having problems sleeping.

"I'm so sorry, Lee. I hadn't any idea," Lou said after listening to Lee. Lou hugged her best friend, "I'm glad that Jimmy was there to protect you"

"Me too Lou, me too," Lee replied.

Lou and Lee then decided to walk back to the Station. There Rachel was waiting for them. "Hey girls, lets drink some tea and I cooked some cookies, so what do you say?"

Lee and Lou looked at each other as Rachel asked, "Hey, is everything ok?"

"It's going to be, Rachel," Lee replied.

"Yeah and lets eat those cookies before Cody arrives," Lou said as they all walked into the house.
