APRIL 14-15, 1861
It was the day before the wedding and Sheriff Teaspoon and Caller Bob were in the jailhouse. They were trying to think of a plausible explanation to get Javier and Lilly out to the Mustang Hill Ranch. Everybody that included Jacy, Melissa, Desiree, Tally, Marta, Jesse, Rachel, Grace, and Ted were out there waiting for them.Meanwhile Walter was over at the livery stable renting a wagon from Samantha. He then drove it over and parked it out in front of the store. Simon and Javier came outside and started loading it up with supplies that Walter had just ordered an hour ago. After the wagon was all loaded, he rubbed his chin and said, "Javier, I have lots of work to do at the hotel. Do you think you think you could drive this out to the Mustang Hill Ranch for me?"
"Mustang Ranch? Why out there? Has somebody bought that place?" Javier had been hoping to save his money and buy that homestead for him and Lilly. Now he was disappointed that he wouldn't be able to buy the place.
"Yes," Walter replied without saying any more.
"Javier why don't you ask Lilly if she would like to go with you." Simon suggested.
"But pa she's working." As Javier replied they all three watched as Lilly came across the street from the Silver Spoon to the store. Javier's mouth was wide open in astonishment.
"Javier you're not gonna believe this, but Charlie gave me the rest of the day off." Lilly said and then greeted the fellas.
"Why'd he do that?" Javier asked.
"He said something like I shouldn't be working on the day before my wedding, and he dismissed me. He almost pushed me out the door when I told him that I didn't mind working. I just don't understand it."
"I don't either, but I'm glad. I'm taking these supplies out to the Mustang Hill Ranch. Would you like to go?" Javier asked.
"I didn't know that anybody lived there." Lilly stated.
"Mr. Simmons said they just moved in." Javier replied, and Walter didn't correct him. He just exchanged smiles with Simon.
"I would like to go for a ride and meet the new people who have moved to Dreamville." Lilly smiled at Javier. She would enjoy a lovely afternoon ride with her fianc. So Javier helped Lilly into the wagon, then he climbed up into the wagon and took the reins. They both waved goodbye to Simon and Walter, and then they headed out of town.
At a fast pace Walter walked over to the jailhouse. He walked in and said, "You two haven't left for the ranch yet?"
"We haven't thought of a way to get Javier and Lilly out there yet." Caller Bob explained.
"They are on their way out there right now." Walter said. "Come on, mount up. We have to beat them out there."
"How did ya get them to go out there?" Teaspoon inquired.
"Come on, I'll tell ya on the way." Walter turned and left with Caller Bob and Teaspoon following.
Upon arrival Javier and Lilly didn't see anybody so they guessed that they must be inside. Javier helped Lilly down, and they walked up onto the porch where Javier proceeded to knock. In answer to his knock a soft voice said, "Come in." Javier and Lilly glanced at each other. Javier turned the knob and pushed the door opened. He motioned for Lilly to enter first. She did so and Javier followed.
As soon as they were inside a group of people hollered, "SURPRISE!!" It startled Lilly so that she jumped a little.
Javier smiled as he saw their friends. He grabbed Lilly by the shoulders to steady her nerves because she had been so startled. Lilly relaxed and smiled back at her friends. Then she spoke, "What is this?" She looked back at Javier for an explanation.
"I'm not sure. I'm as much in the dark as you." Javier answered.
"Javier, Lilly, we decided to chip in and buy this place for you as a wedding present." Caller Bob announced.
"We cleaned up the place and hung new curtains to brighten up the place." Rachel said. "Grace made the curtains. Didnt she do a lovely job?" Everybody agreed.
"I didnt do it all by myself. Rachel helped." Grace bashfully admitted.
"It's . . . it's . . . so lovely . . . the house, the curtains . . . its all so wonderful. I'm so lucky to have such good friends as all of you." Lilly stammered full of awe.
Lilly and Javier went around thanking everybody, and then everybody helped bring in the supplies that Walter had bought as a house-warming gift. There was a broom, lanterns, matches and some blankets. He had wanted to give them a couple of weeks supply of food, but he knew that wouldn't be a good idea since they were leaving on their honeymoon tomorrow night.
After all the supplies were stored away in their proper place, they all decided to leave, so that Javier and Lilly could explore their new place on their own. Everybody said goodbye and rode off. Caller Bob, Teaspoon, Walter, Tally, Desiree, Marta, and Ted headed back to town while Jesse and Rachel went to the waystation, and Jacy and Melissa headed home.
Lilly walked over to the table where a vase held some pretty wild flowers. She began to cry. Javier walked over to her and put his arms around her waist and leaned his chin on her shoulder. "What's the matter Lilly? What's wrong, why are you crying?"
"It's just that I'm so happy. I just can't believe that I'm getting married, and that I have so many good friends that they would do this . . . all of this for me . . . for us." She turned around and laid her head on Javier's chest. "I am so happy."
"You make me happy." Javier simply said as he stroked Lilly's back.

Blythe closed up the post office and headed up the stairs to her room. She and Caly were going to stay with Lilly that night to help her get everything ready for the wedding the next day and she needed to gather her stuff. She quickly threw what she needed in a small bag...just her nightgown and hairbrush and a few other things. Her dress for the wedding was already at Lilly's. On her way out, she left the afghan she had crocheted for the wedding present with Simon, who had promised to bring it to the reception for her the next day.
When she got back downstairs, she saw Javier leaning against the counter, a thoughtful expression on his face.
"Thinking about tomorrow?" she asked softly, smiling at her friend. Javier and Lily were perfect together, and she couldn't be happier for them.
"Tomorrow, and the rest of my life," Javier replied.
"Nervous?"
"A little. But mostly really anxious, and really really happy."
"You and Lily are going to live happily ever after, I just know it," Blythe gave him a kiss on the cheek. "I have to get to Lily's now. I'll see you tomorrow, although, I'm sure you won't see me. You'll only have eyes for Lily."
"Thanks Blythe," Javier waved at her as she walked out the door.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Javier was sitting in Michael's room just staring. Charlie, Simon, Luke and Buck walked in. "What's wrong, son?" Simon asked. "Sad that your mother's not here to see this? Well, don't worry, she's looking down on you today." He tried to comfort his son.
"Well, not exactly." Javier mumbled.
"What was that, son?"
"I wasn't exactly thinking of Mama. Well, what if . . . I mean . . ."
As Javier turned red from embarrassment, Luke came to his rescue, "It's been my experience that every woman is different, but they all like it if you romance them."
Simon and Charlie also gave Javier some 'pointers' as they called it. Javier and Buck just sat back and listened. Javier was hoping that he could remember all this for tonight when he and Lilly were alone. And Buck was hoping he could remember it all for when it was his turn.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Buck left the station early for the wedding. He needed to be there earlier than anyone
else because he was a groomsman, but he didn't need to be there as early as he left. He
wanted to talk to Meg. Vanessa had told him a while back that Meg looked like she was
getting a little too close to Ian. And now with Luke moved out and all the rumors flying
around town about her, he wanted to talk to her. He rode up to Willow Manor and knocked on
the door.
"Hello, Buck, don't you look nice." Meghan smiled at him.
"Hi, Meghan. Thank you. Do you have a minute to talk?"
"Sure, come on in, I'll fix us some lemonade."
Buck sat at the kitchen table as Meg got the drinks for them. He was so nervous about this talk, that he just jumped right on in with both feet. "Meg, what is exactly going on between you and Ian?"
"Why, Buck, whatever do you mean?"
"I mean, Meg, the town's people are talking and what they are saying is not nice. Some even think this has been going since Halloween. Someone saw you and Ian in the barn together and alone."
"What have they been saying." Meg asked worriedly.
"Well, for one, they say that Ian has a room set up for the twins at his place, that they are his children and not Luke's, that you were pregnant when you got married. And when Luke heard Charity telling people that he was going to take the twins even though they were not his and leave you and Dreamville, he stood up and yelled at her. He told her that they were his children, and he would never take them away from you. That you are depressed from having the babies and that he is giving you some time to yourself to sort it all out. That everything is fine between you and him. Meg, please tell me that he was right. The town gossips are saying that you are leaving him."
Meg sat stunned. Luke had stood up for her even after all she had put him through. "Buck thank you for your concern. But none of those rumors are true. But Luke also lied. We are separated, not because I'm depressed, but because I am confused. I am seeing Ian and Luke both. I love Luke, but I don't know how I feel about Ian. So I thought it would be best to separate until I could get my own feelings straight." Meg said ruefully.
"Meg, just be careful of the gossips, ok? I don't want to see you or Luke get hurt in this." Buck said as he got up to walk out of the door to go to the wedding.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Lilly was sitting in Caly's room. She was a little sad that Mr. Whitmore couldn't make it, but he had sent her a bouquet of Easter Lilies, her favorite kind of flower. She was using these flowers for her bouquet to walk down the isle. The girls had decorated the yard earlier that morning in Lilies and Roses. They also made streamers of green paper to decorate the chairs.
Simon came into the room followed by Luke and Buck. "It's time." As the music started, Luke escorted Blythe to her spot at the alter. Then Buck came down with Caly on his arm. Everyone rose when Simon and Lilly started down the isle together.
During the ceremony, Luke wished that his wife was there. He also remembered his own wedding. Then he remembered what he had told Javier and what Serena had told him. He had told Javier to romance his wife. And Serena had told him to court his wife. Maybe he should keep doing that no matter who she chose. Then maybe, just maybe, he could hold onto the love of his life. But he didn't want to make her feel guilty. He wanted her to stay because that's what she wanted.
The wedding itself was beautiful. Grace and Charlie had to leave early, so that they could make sure that everything was set up at the restaurant. By the time everyone got there, it was absolutely gorgeous. Charlie had decorated every thing in Easter Lilies. They had set the tables alongside the walls and had a dance floor in the middle of the dinning room
While the kids were eating, Grace and Kathleen went to go hide the eggs for the Easter egg hunt. The rest of the adults kept the kids from peeking. After Kathleen and Grace came back in, the kids rushed outside and hunted the eggs while the adults danced. Kathleen and Richard kept an eye on the kids while Grace, Charlie, Charity, and Clover cleaned up the plates and then joined in on the dancing.
Caly caught the bride's bouquet, and a few hours later Javier and Lilly left. Caly watched Lilly and Javier, and she just knew that they would live happily ever after. They were the perfect couple. She was glad she could helped her friends out by letting them use the ranch for their wedding. Luckily her father had agreed to it. After catching the bride's bouquet, Caly hoped the wife's tale about it was true. But for now, she was glad to be there with Buck. At the reception she watched him dance with the bride, and she danced with Jimmy.
But the rest of the evening, Caly danced with Buck. After a couple of dances when she was standing beside Buck, Caly enjoyed watching Michael being pulled around by Melissa. She thought they both make a wonderful team, maybe someday Melissa would be her sister-in-law.
Buck walked up and wrapped his arms around her waist and whispered. "Since you caught the bouquet, how about you and I disappear for awhile?"
Caly blushed as she leaned back into his arms, "Sounds like fun."
Buck guided Caly out of the restaurant, and helped her into the buckboard. After climbing in on the other side, they headed back to the SJ Ranch for their horses. While Caly changed, Buck saddled Wind Dancer and Star. Caly met Buck at the porch as he led the horses over.
They mounted up and headed over to Cripple Creek. Taking their horses to the livery, they put them up while they ate. They headed over to the restaurant and enjoyed a quiet supper.
Exiting the restaurant, Buck noticed that it was getting dark. "Why don't we get a couple of rooms and head back in the morning?"
Caly nodded, "Okay, no sense risking the horses getting hurt."
Buck nodded in an agreement. They headed for the hotel. As they entered the clerk looked up. "Sorry ma'am, but he can't stay here," pointing to Buck.
Caly stopped, "Why not? He's just as good as you," trying to keep her anger from showing.
Buck touched her arm. "It's okay. You get a room. I'll be fine."
Caly turned to him and pulled him back out the door. "No, I wont let you be treated like this."
Kissing her cheek, Buck knew she didn't want to be alone. "You get a room along the back. I'll climb in through the window if that will help you feel better?" He smiled when he saw her smile accepting his answer.
Taking a calming breath, Caly went and got a room. Buck went around back and waited for Caly to open the window. Caly took the key and headed for her room. Making sure the door was locked Caly opened the window. Sticking her head out the window she called, "Buck up here."
Buck nodded and started to climb the side of the hotel. Reaching the window, Buck climbed into the room. "Hey, Rupulziul, let down your hair," Buck joked as he got his footing on a hole in the outside wall. Caly helped Buck in through the window. They tumbled onto the bed, and they laughed as they untangled their legs and arms.
Buck sat up. "I haven't done that in a while."
"Me either." Caly answered back as she sat up.
Standing up Buck took the extra pillow and blanket and made a bed on the floor. "I'll be right here if you need me. We have to leave early."
"Okay." Caly nodded as she pulled her shoes off and slipped under the covers. Buck kissed her gently then blew out the lamp and laid on his make shift bed.
Caly woke with a start. She was shaking. Looking around she didn't see Buck, so she tried hard to calm herself. Despite her efforts she couldn't hold back the tears. Drawling her legs up to her chest, she wrapped her arms around her knees.
Buck woke to the sound of someone crying. Sitting up, he saw Caly was crying. Sitting next to her on the bed he asked, "Another nightmare?"
Caly nodded, "They aren't normally that bad anymore."
Brushing some hair from her face, he comforted her by saying, "It's okay. I'm right here."
Caly nodded. "Buck could you hold me for a while?"
"Sure I will." Buck answered as he moved around behind her and then pulled her into his arms.
Caly leaned back into his embrace. "I didn't mean to wake you."
"It's okay. I'm glad I was here."
Caly started to play with his hair. "They aren't normally this bad. Maybe it's because I'm not at home."
"That could be why." Buck leaned over and gently kissed her.
Shifting her weight, Caly leaned into the kiss wrapping her arms around his neck. They slowly laid back and wrapped in each others arms, their kisses turned more passionate, and Buck knew what Caly was silently pleading. He knew that he would stop if she asked him to at any point, but he wanted to make sure he had gotten her signals right before they went any further. "Are you sure about this?" He asked as he pulled back.
Caly nodded. "Yes, I'm sure. There's no one I would rather be with than you."
Letting their hands roam as one thing lead to another. Caly woke in his arms feeling everything was right. She looked over at Buck and smiled when she saw him awake watching her. They sat up and searched for the clothes that were haphazardly thrown about the room. They quickly dressed.
Buck climbed out the window and headed for the livery. Caly went and returned the key. Then met Buck at the livery. He helped her mount up, then he mounted up, and they headed out of town. Halfway back to town Caly stopped her horse. Buck pulled to a stop next to her. "Something wrong?"
Caly looked over at him. "What are we going to do if we . . . you know?"
Buck thought a minute and replied, "If it happened, we'll deal with it, *together*."
"I just want you to know if it happens, I wont push you away."
Buck took her hand. "No matter what happens, I will never desert you. I love you."
Caly smiled. "I love you, too."
They continued on to the SJ Ranch. Steven met them in the yard. "I was worried about you, Caly."
"Sorry, Popa. After we ate, it was to dark to ride back."
Steven nodded, "I knew you were in good hands."
"Yes, I was and am. May I go to the station for lunch?"
"Sure, just come home tonight."
"I will I promise." Caly smiled. Steven nodded and watched them leave.
They rode into the station yard just as everyone was heading in for lunch. They dismounted and tied Star to the post. They went and took care of Wind Dancer. Taking Caly's hand, Buck led her into the house. Pulling out a chair for her, Caly sat down, "Thank you."
"You're welcome." Buck said as he sat next to her.
Cody looked up noticing the big grin on Buck's face. "I see you and Caly are like Jimmy and Lee now."
Jimmy smacked Cody on the back of the head. "Shut up, Cody."
"Why it's true look at him"
"Enough, Cody." Teaspoon warned.
"Alright," Cody said dejected
Teaspoon sat back "Alright, Jimmy, Lee, what's this announcement you said you had to make."
Jimmy looked at Lee who nodded to him. Taking a deep breath and standing, Jimmy started. "Well, I would like to let you all know that I asked Lee to marry me." He paused for effect then continued, "And she said yes."
"But we're not setting a date yet. I'm not ready to quit riding yet."
"That's great you two." Rachel said as she hugged Lee.
Cody looked shocked. "What, Jimmy, you finally got her pregnant."
Jimmy just glared at Cody,
"Now if I was, we would be setting a date, wouldn't we!" Lee answered back sarcastically.
"Well, it's about time, you two do things the proper way." Kid said.
"What we do on our personal time is none of your business, Kid" Lee spat back as she stood up knocking over her chair, then stormed out of the house.
"We thought you all would be happy for us." Jimmy said as he went after Lee.
Caly stood giving Buck's shoulder a gentle squeeze and went after the couple. She saw Jimmy standing by the barn. "Where's Lee?"
Jimmy pointed to the loft in the barn. Climbing the ladder, she found Lee sitting near the back of the loft.
"Lee don't mind Cody and Kid. We all are happy for you."
"Thanks, Caly. Just didn't think they would act like that."
They could hear Buck and Jimmy talking as Buck saddled Wind Dancer.
Caly nodded, "I agree. Well, I better get home before my pa gets upset. If you need to talk to me, just let me know."
Lee nodded, "Thanks goodnight."
Caly climbed out of the loft and approached the two men. Buck and Caly bid Jimmy goodnight as they mounted. They headed for the SJ Ranch as Jimmy climbed up the ladder to the loft to be with his beloved.

Michael was excited about the wedding. He thought Javier and Lilly were the perfect couple. He had barely slept the night before because he had spent the night at a new place with Jesse at the station. Michael was up before everyone. As he sat on the porch thinking about the Easter egg hunt, he had decided not to take part this year, but Melissa and Jesse had talked him into it, and they both knew he would do anything to make Melissa happy.
Michael didn't want to hunt eggs, but he did when Melissa took his hand and pulled him with her. He had a good time. Actually when Melissa wasn't looking he dropped some of his eggs into her basket, so Melissa ended up finding the most eggs with Michael's help. At the end of the Easter egg hunt Melissa was happy that she had found the most. Michael was glad that she was happy because he hated beating her in the calf roping contest at the rodeo a few days ago. But he had to do it, because he had wanted to prove to his pa that he was old enough to go on the cattle drive.

Samantha was busy saddling the last horse in the livery that would be heading for the wedding. Lilly had come by last night for the buggy, and then she had headed out to the SJ Ranch.
Clover came and got Cabelero and headed for the wedding. At the reception Clover fumed as she watched Noah and Ivy dancing. She had tried to break in but wasn't having any luck.
Richard came by for a buckboard. He thanked Samantha and headed out to Kathleen's.
As Samantha went back into her office and got her needlepoint she had made for the happy couple, she left for the wedding after everyone had got their horses or buggies.
Samantha danced with Tally and enjoyed watching the kids hunt for the eggs.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
As Richard pulled up in front of Kathleens, he straightened his jacket. Then he knocked on her door.
Kathleen smiled as she opened the door, "Hello Richard, you look great."
Richard looked up. He thought he was seeing an angel of loveliness. "Hello Kathleen you look beautiful."
Kathleen blushed, "Thank you."
Richard couldn't believe how beautiful she looked. She had on a lavender shirt, yellow skirt and a yellow ribbon in her hair. After he arrived at Kathleen's, he placed the wrapped wedding gift, a mantel clock, on the floor of the buckboard.
Offering Kathleen his arm he asked, "Shall we?"
Taking his arm. "Yes, let's." Richard led her to the buckboard and helped her in. Climbing into the rig he snapped the reins, and they headed for the wedding.
Later on they danced and enjoyed the reception. They agreed that Lilly was a very pretty bride. When the Easter Egg hunt began, they kept an eye on the kids while the other adults danced.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Steven was busy setting up the last of the chairs. Caly and Blythe had decorated the yard already. He wished he had went into town and had asked Anjannette to join him for the wedding, but he had been to busy getting the place ready for the wedding that he hadn't the time to do it.
Setting up the last chair, he hoped that Anjannette would show anyway. He looked over at the table where Caly had laid her gift of an afghan she had made for Lilly and Javier. Then he looked around the yard and nodded thinking, it looks good, and there's plenty of room for everyone.
The wedding went great. He smiled as he watched Caly catch the bouquet. At the reception he slipped out to see Anjannette.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
If Sean thought that Destiny was beautiful when he picked her up at the rodeo, then she mustve been gorgeous when he picked her up for Javier and Lillys wedding. Brianna and Jemima looked their best also.
In the buckboard on the way to the wedding, Jemima asked, "Did you see the way that my mom was looking at your Da?"
"Did you see the way that Da was looking at your mom?" They both nodded. "Wouldnt it be great if they fell in love and we became true sisters?" Brianna said.
"I would have a Daddy!"
"And I would have a Mama!"
The adults were too caught up in each other to notice the childrens banter in the back of the buckboard. They were oblivious to what the girls were plotting.
The wedding itself was beautiful and at the reception, Brianna and Jemima talked about how they could get their parents to get married to each other.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Cody got Jimmy and Noah together and they made a plate for the door of Javier and Lilly's home. Cody got Rachel to wrap it.
While they saddled their horses, Cody couldn't help but ask the question that had been nagging him all day. "Are Ivy and Lee going to be at the wedding?"
"Lee wont be back in time for the wedding." Jimmy answered while he checked the cinch on his saddle.
"I'm picking up Ivy before the wedding." Noah answered over his shoulder as he led Trouble from the barn.
Cody and Jimmy followed Noah out of the barn. They mounted. "We'll see you at the wedding." Jimmy called to Noah as they headed out of the station.
Cody looked around, "Seen Buck anywhere, Jimmy?"
"Yes, saw him head over early this morning to Caly's. He's part of the wedding. Besides even if he wasn't he would be there anyway."
"Oh yeah I forgot." Cody replied quietly.
Jimmy just shook his head, "Come on let's go. Got the gift?"
Cody nodded, "In my saddle bag."
Jimmy nodded as they rode towards the SJ Ranch.
At the reception Jimmy danced with Caly, but he really wished Lee could be here today. Cody spent most of his time trying to talk to Jacy.
